I'm considering becoming a vegetarian come the new year. I tried doing a little research online, but I just find pictures of animals in cages...come on! You've already got me considering, you don't have to show me dying calves!
But really, it makes a lot of sense to me, and it really wouldn't change my eating habits that much. The only reason I've been holding back for a while is because Shane didn't seem into it, and that would mean I'd have to make two sets of everything (plus the idea of handling meat still grosses me out, even after all these years). But he thought that he'd give it a go, and if we had no meat in the house, it'd be a lot easier.
For the past few years, I've pretty much been eating only chicken/turkey, aside from when there was no other option, then I'd eat beef. I really don't like the taste of it that much, and if it's not REALLY well done, I won't touch it becuase to me it's like eating a bloody mess -- YUCK. And really chicken/turkey? Not so great that I can't go without it. I can pretty much modify all my favorite recipes, and I don't go out to eat that much, so no biggie. And Shane's been trying to lose weight, should be easier without the tempation of fried red meat around.
I like to think of myself as an animal lover, so why not actually try to back that up by not eating them?
