st.pat's comes and goes and warps the week. a bacchanal celebration on a tuesday? how does one recover?
as usual, we joined our co-workers and a few friends at a spot on a square along the parade route. i started my morning with mimosas, bagels, fruit... mimosas, brownies, a hunch-punch like concoction...well, you see, it gets blurry. in the end we were out and about from 9:30am to 8:30pm until we retired like old folks. that night i had heartburn for the first time in my life. whoa.
my showdown with sallie mae ended peacefully, surprisingly enough. the trick was sticking it through and hanging up on half asleep reps and calling back until i got someone wide awake, sane, spoke english, and was willing to help. the other trick, and treat i must add, is a little something called the "partial pay forebearance," which means i get to accomplish all the things i wanted to do in regards to my private student loan.
but now, i'm kinda broke. sallie mae practically cleared out my checking account, and part of my savings account which i was really sad to see go. i had been doing so well not touching it. and if it weren't for that paypal balance i had from doll sales...
there's a part two to this story. and i'll switch to my doll lj because i'm going to get annoying.
i think i will buy some ice cream today. :3
soooo the klaxons are coming out with a new album, but the record company is pressuring them to just hurry up and finish, which is disheartening. i really liked their first album, and i don't want them to release rushed slop. i like how random and irreverant their songs are, and how playful they can be. (they're pretty ridiculous... have some lyrics for "magick":
Magick, without tears
Magick, without tears
Magick, without tears
The magickal veneer
The way to mother noose,
The way to suck an egg,
The way to Golden Dawn,
The way to Koh Phangan.
The glitter on the snow
the place to always go
Do what you will,
Do what you will.) and if they release some alt-rock mainstream shit i'm going to be dissapointed.
