Alrighty. Doing another entry on chapter 72 of SE. Which...is apparently chapter 71? What?

Anyway. This month had a lot of plot going on, but the fanbase and myself included are mostly focused on the lulz. These being the pages in question:

Genderbending's pretty popular in the fanart area of the fandom, particularly with 84k. So, having this in canon is silly and AWESOME.

» Maka had the Book of Eibon all along, haha. I think the fandom figured that out ages ago?
» So...what's up with Stalker Girl? I'm guessing this arc could take as long as, or longer than the Baba Yaga arc soooo. We probably won't be seeing her for a while. (Or she'll tie into what the adults are going to be doing while the kids are traipsing around the book?)
» D'AAWWW Black*Star wants to thank Kid for kicking the crap out him and getting him on the right track. That's right, I forgot the two haven't seen each other since that fight in the manga. The anime version of their fight was...kind of pointless :/. Black*Star didn't get anything out of it, and everyone just seemed to forget about it in a couple of episodes *so prefers the manga version of these events*.
» I love that shot of everyone putting their fists together and then Maka being all "SPARTOI TO THE RESCCUUEEE!!" :3
» Index's character design is very Ohkubo-ish in that it's really, really odd looking. What.
» Ah okay. Seven deadly sins. Fight things named after a sin, battle your inner demons, save EBIL KID. This is shounen standard type stuff. Except, like most things in Soul Eater, it's gonna be a helluva lot more satisfying to watch unfold in comparison to a lot of other popular manga. Which is why I love this series.
» So, each of the character's particular genderbends depend upon what they find attractive in the opposite sex. This whole arc is nothing but a massive plot device for a) shenanigans b) character development. So I am kind of sort of psyched. Also, ILU Ohkubo.
» Obviously, my inner Soul/Maka fangirl is noting that Soul apparently prefers petite, small chested girls. Like we-all-know-who. Hur hur.
» Did boy!Liz just mention her father? Or is she just saying Patti's name? If so, I think that's the first family member outside of Patti that's been mentioned with these two. Hmm.

This is too perfect <3. How great would it be if Maka pulled what he pulled on her in the first episode? Icing on the cake. Also, watching Soul stamp his feet and burst in to tears would make it more perfect.
» So. Who is the final "Great Old One"? If Ohkubo's following the anime-canon on this one then I'm assuming it's...Excalibur. Heh.
» Aw, Kid. Stop being evil right now. That's more Stein, Crona, Soul...and Maka's...thing. Okay, I guess you might as well join in if EVERYONE gets to be evil in this series. Lol.
