I won't hesitate no more, no more // It cannot wait, I'm sure // There's no need to complicate, our time is short // This is our fate, I'm yours -- Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
Claire was quiet as she curled up on the edge of the couch, her feet tucked under the cushions a bit as she continued to read the book that was settled on her lap. There was some soft music playing but it didn't drown out the sound of the video game or the bouncing behind her. The excited little cheer in Japanese had her lifting her head curiously as she peeked at Hiro who was rather intent on the game that he was playing but he still caught it when she peeked at him. Instantly he was sheepish, bowing his head a little as he murmured a quick apology to her and then went back to focusing on his game. Her mouth curled a little as she knew it wouldn't be long before he was bouncing and chattering once more. Not that she minded.
She got another couple pages into her book before he proved her right and she bit back a soft giggle while peeking at him out of the corner of her eye. Resting her hand on her page, she was content to watch him for a moment then, watching the way his eyes twinkled and the way he pushed up his glasses with one finger. His short black hair was mussed this way and that as though he had ran his fingers through the locks over and over, which he did suddenly with one hand before going back to his controller as he waited for the game to load another scene. She could remember friends of her bitching about how their boyfriends would waste entire nights playing video games but she didn't mind so much some nights.
Since finding out she was immortal, she knew that whatever time she had with him was short. It could be one year or eighty but that was actually going to seem like a short amount of time as she went on, especially after he was gone. That didn't mean she was always patient, she wasn't always. This was a first serious relationship for her and he was surprisingly patient with her. Sometimes she worried about the age difference but he never let it bother him. He had met her parents despite his fear of her dad and he was still alive. She knew that there were some awkward topics between them, mainly Adam and their previous relationship but they didn't let that affect them so much that it tarnished their own relationship.
Resting her elbow on the arm of the chair, she continued to watch him even as she wondered what it was that attracted him to her. A small self conscious voice wanted to say it was because she came from Adam but she knew that wasn't it. She wasn't entirely sure what it was but there he was. He stayed in New York more because of her, he had his apartment where they were currently hanging out and he spent as much time with her as they both wanted. He never minded that she didn't have as much experience as others he may have been with. She knew she was lucky to have him.
That was probably what had her setting her book aside before she shifted to her knees a little, waiting a second as he realized that she was looking at him and sitting closer. He paused his game, turning his head to look at her and then blinking a bit as she brought her hands up to cup his face before she leaned in to kiss him softly. Tilting her head, she let the kiss deepen as her tongue teased against his bottom lip and then rolled gently into his mouth to tease against his tongue. She kissed him till she had to pull back for air and she giggled a little at the look of wonder on his face as he gave her a dreamy smile. "What was that for?"
"Nothing." She murmured. There were things that she wanted to say but instead she just smiled softly as she settled back, "Nothing at all." She giggled a little as she picked up her book, settling it on her lap as she went back to reading with a smile. There was no need to ask a bunch of questions or to really go into it with deep, meaningful words. It was as simple as the kiss, she was his.
