"Hey, it's me. I'm going to be a little late tonight and I don't really feel like cooking, so how about we just eat at Granny's tonight? Call me back when you have a moment, okay? Love you, bye." Claire was smiling as she ended the message to Archie's voicemail, straightening away from the counter as she tucked her phone away. Pausing then as she saw a smirking Belle nearby, she rolled her eyes with a laugh. "Oh shut up."
"Come on, it's cute." Belle smiled warmly. "You both are very cute together. It's nice to see you happy."
"Thanks." Claire smiled back before pausing. "I just hope it lasts." Which was a constant worry, a little voice of doubt, that existed in the back of her head considering where they both came from. Both very different worlds but not without their trouble and people who could pose as an obstacle.
One of those people from Claire's world was about to pop up though. In fact, he stood just a few blocks away.
Frowning, Noah Bennet stood beside his rental car as he slowly looked over the buildings and the street in front of him. Taking into consideration all the places his daughter could have gone, he could see the lure but as an agent he could also see all the concerns. She would stand out too easily here, among people who would know she was a stranger, and there wasn't that many places to hide. It would be all too easy to find her when one was asking the right questions. Of course, he knew he would have to be careful just in case she had made any friends who would tip her off if he pushed too hard too fast.
Unfortunately for her, he was good at hunting people down.
Fixing a warm but polite smile on his face, he stepped up onto the sidewalk, looking up and down the street before moving towards a little diner called Granny's. He would get a cup of coffee, ask where there was a hotel or a bed and breakfast, and he would see about this town that had been her last known location. If she had moved on, which he hoped she had, he would find that out soon too. Either way, he was on her trail and he would find her soon, he was sure of that.
