The walls are coming closer, my senses fade away
I'm haunted by your shadow, I reach to feel your face
You're not here, are you here?
Come and rescue me, rescue me
Come and rescue me. I'm burning, can't you see
Come and rescue me, only you can set me free
Come and rescue me, rescue me
You and me
Tokio Hotel - Rescue me
Claire hadn't told anyone but the nightmares were getting worse, they came nightly now. Every night she had the same dream that left her feeling torn apart and grieving. She didn't even know why she felt like she was grieving, all she knew was the ache in the center of her chest and the tears that escaped her. But now the nightmares seemed to be getting to her during the day too and she wondered about it.
She was on the street near her home the first time it happened. She looked up from watching the sidewalk, the wind catching a blond curl and blowing it across her features. As she lifted a hand to tug the curl back, she saw him through a curtain of blond. He was turning and glancing back over his shoulder, a shadowed gaze behind the horn rimmed glasses. Her breath caught hard in the back of her throat, her heart leaping as she quickly moved forward. She reached for his arm, grabbing it tightly to turn him around, about to say his name but she found herself stopping short when she looked into the face of a man she didn't recognize. Color flooded her cheeks as she let go quickly, "Oh. Uh, I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else."
Watching him walk away, she felt her throat close a bit as she hugged herself, wondering why she had seen her dad. Turning, she looked around when suddenly she saw him again. This time he was across the street, his hands tucked in his pockets as he watched her. The crowd moved all around him, not seeming to notice the man that stood silently and still in their midst. He had always been taller, so it was no surprise he seemed a head taller than the crowd. "Dad?" She whispered, then moved forward, rushing off the sidewalk without realization or thought.
The blaring of the horn made her jump, a cry catching in her throat as she jumped, her hand slapping down on the hood of the cab as she looked at the startled driver. She wasn't sure who was more startled, but he got over it quickly as he started screaming curses at her. She rushed forward, near the edge of the next street when the horn came a little too late. The car had already been slowing down by the bumper still caught her thigh right above her knee, sending her onto the hood, her hip cracking against the unforgiving metal before she tumbled to the ground. She heard startled cries all around her, rolling onto her back as she was surrounded by people coming off the sidewalk.
She didn't hear the questions, the inquiries about if she was okay or not. She merely sat up, knowing she had to run as she was going to be fully healed. Looking through the crowd, she didn't see him anymore. Pushing to her feet, she pushed at people's hands as she broke through the crowd and started to run, leaving confused people behind her. At first she limped but as her knee healed itself, she ran with more confidence and it was easier to get away.
When she got into the place she shared with Adam, she was still shaking a little. Swallowing thickly, she hurried into her rroom, not seeing Adam or maybe he was still laying down. Peeling off her jacket, she looked down at her knee, seeing the blood on the side of her jeans but it didn't matter. She was hot and cold all at the same time, little pins and needles seeming to race across her skin. Rubbing her hands over her skin, she swallowed before reaching to grab her cellphone out her jacket. She scrolled through the numbers, seeming to hold her breath as she looked at the screen and then pressed the button to call the number. Tilting her head, she waited as she waited for the other end to pick up, then she whispered, "Mohinder, I...I think something is wrong with me."
