The roles are reversed (for heroslayer)

Claire knew that the others wouldn't really like what she was about to do but she was hoping that a couple of them would understand.  She knew Hiro wouldn't like it, merely because of her partner and Peter wouldn't either because his mind would automatically go to the future version of her that he saw but she was hoping Adam would understand on ( Read more... )

That's why she didn't go into the alley, she just peeked down it and then turned away as she walked back a few steps. She could tell that she was being watched, sure that it was Sylar who was watching her because he would have been waiting for a little while. Every muscle in her body is tight and every sense is alert, so much so that she is sure she's never been so alert. Maybe it was after the cat had scared her or maybe it was because she knew that she was going hunting with Sylar. She had slipped so many times, people had used her inexperience against her but she was trying to learn. She was going to learn how to take care of herself.

She felt a faint chill creep up her spine seconds before she heard Sylar's greeting. Whirling around to face him, her eyes were narrowed and for a second she looked like she might attack but then she relaxed a little at the sight of him. Not that it looked like it. "Sylar." She murmured as she tilted her head to the side.

There was something different all ready, a strange and cold determination to her eyes. Even her jaw seemed a little more firm as she studied him for a moment, the wind catching an errant curl to tease it against her cheek until she caught it to push it behind the delicate shell of an ear. "Got any idea where we can find him?" She asks, moving towards him.

Claire fell silent as he cocked his head to the side and she had to admit that she had seen the kitten do that exact move a number of times all ready. She looked at their surroundings as though they could give her a hint of something but even if her senses were sharp, that was just for her and nowhere near what he could do. She didn't feel uneasy under his gaze, she was more comfortable around him now.

"I can't seem him going far."

She shakes her head a little as she shifts her weight a little bit, "Let's find him." She murmurs, glancing up at the townhouse since she wanted to get away from there before someone could come out to stop them. You just never know, right? She looks back at Sylar, "Which way?"

Claire nodded her head as he suggested getting away from the house, turning to follow him down the alley since she was with him now. It wasn't like he was going to let anything happen to her again and there was no way he would let her out of his sight. They had all made that abundantly clear even in not so many words; basically she was under everyone's watchful eye till things calmed down a bit or she knew how to handle herself a little better.

When Sylar stated then that he was going to take Knox's ability, she paused for a moment as she looked over at him. She knew that she should tell him no, that it was a threat to all the good that he was trying to do and the fact that he was trying to change but at the same time, why should she? He's a big boy, he knows the threat to himself and she knows that its the hunger mixed with the rage. And there was a part of her that wanted to see Knox pay that way.

"Fine, I won't stop you." She shrugged, "You know what his power is then?" She knew, she had experienced it first hand after all.

Claire nodded her head, not wanting to flash back but she did. In the back of her mind she could hear her screams as he crushed a bone, the look on his face as he watched her own features contort into a mask of pain as she tried not to cry out but he made it impossible. "Yes, that's what he does." She murmured.

Then she looked at him once more, focusing as she pulled herself out of the strange little flash back. She considered it for a moment as she tilted her head, "He seemed to get a rush off of it, like he even looked like he got a little bigger." Her eyes were darkening just a little, "And he loves to punch holes right through a person's chest." It was the first time she had told anyone even a hint of what happened to her.

"Whatever, he gets really strong." She shrugged, moving past him.

Claire didn't want to tell them what all happened to her. She knew they had an idea from when they found her, the state that her clothes had been in with them being torn and bloody. She didn't know if it was just that she didn't want to talk about it or maybe she just didn't want to see the look on their faces when she did.

She didn't see the sneer that wasn't aimed at her, she was starting forward as the anger was starting to burn inside of her once more and it was turning her restless as she just wanted to find Knox. When he touched her shoulder, she stopped before he even gave the command and she turned around to face him as he seemed to need another minute. Probably to find whatever he needed to find to track Knox.

Was she still scared of Sylar? Maybe some aspects but over all? No, not any more. She didn't have anything that he wanted, that being reason one. Reason two, he was her uncle and he had already made it clear that he thought of her as his. His family, his niece and his to protect. He could be terrifying, she had no doubt of that and she was sure there would be times where the darkness might unsettle her a little but it would never scare her. It wouldn't be aimed at her and it was a shield for her now, she had to admit that she felt stronger having him on her side.

She felt safer being his niece.

Claire met his gaze as he gave her a long, penetrating look. It was a little unsettling, the direct stare seeming to sink right through her but she never looked away till he closed his eyes. Then she shifted her gaze to focus elsewhere, watching the area as he tried to find whatever he was looking for. She kept her breath shallow, trying not to move because she worried about distracting him.

When he finally opened his eyes, she could tell that he had found something and the right corner of her mouth curled a little in response as she felt a flash of pleasure at the thought. She knew that he could race off ahead and find Knox, probably could even kill him before she got anywhere near the two of them but he didn't. He kept her near him.

"Okay." She moved to follow him.

Claire didn't think anything about it as she watched him sniff the air now and then, he had told her the abilities that he had gotten from Mohinder and so she merely paused every time he took a moment to do what he needed to do. Sometimes when he stopped beneath a street light, she swore that she could see his eyes glowing which surprised her a little but she didn't really ask about it. She could ask later but right now he needed the peace and quiet to focus.

She was sure they were getting closer, especially when he mentioned finding Knox and she nodded a little bit, "Fine by me." She decided out loud before looking at him, "Seriously, whatever you have to do. I don't care how ruthless." After all, it wasn't like Knox had shown her very much care and he hadn't been gentle. He had been very ruthless with her.

Claire nodded as he decided that it was good. Not that he needed permission from her to do what he wanted, he was going to do whatever he thought was fitting and she knew that Knox was facing hell for what he had done. Worse than hell really. She knew there would be no mercy for the man because Sylar sure as hell wouldn't offer any and neither would she. She didn't have it in her to.

She glanced at him and then at the abandoned building, pursing her lips a little bit, "He must be squatting, figuring no one would find him there." He probably didn't have anyone to go to either. Good, just made it easier for them.

Quickly she followed, keeping her movements light as she mimicked his actions and did her best to move like him. Feeling him enter her head, she glanced at him and then nodded. She didn't say anything but she seemed to playing a song over and over in her head, just a faint sound as she played Bleed It Out by Linkin Park in her mind as she stayed close.
