SO a lot has happened. Hmmm..... I moved back to Buffalo because I finally got a graphic design job. The shift is 3:30-12. Honestly it's pretty great. Everyone is so friendly, we get free food every so often, you can wear WHATEVER you want, and I don't really feel like I'm "at work". You can listen to music too! Which I've been totally rockin to the new Tori Amos. I'm in a little room with TWO windows, and two other girls my age. Yeah, I had a dead spider float down from the ceiling and land on my desk, but hey- I took care of it. We're supposed to be moving buildings eventually and I hear there will not be a window which I'm devastated over. But everything should be nice and updated. Oh and one day I found a used condom next to my car. Ah!!!! As far as the creativity goes... it's hard to be creative when the main focus is putting a whole crap load of information in a tiny box. Every once in a while I get to make something somewhat cool. But you're working for clients who don't know a thing about graphic design and don't know what good design is. They think any white space is a bad thing. So basically I paid 50,000 to learn how to do awesome designs and now have to pay back my loans by doing bad designs. Hahaha. Strange... But oh well, it's a start. I don't think I'll be able to make it to the convention in August because I will not have worked up enough vacation time. I'll have to wait for the anniversary of my starting date and then I'll get two weeks. :( Bummer. Big bummer. However, I'm getting used to the hours. I get up around 10 so I can enjoy the day, and then I go to bed around 1:30-2. I'm still working on unpacking and cleaning. The past week my sister was over with her 2- almost 3 yr old Jasmine and 1yr old John. So I pretty much was up at 7am everyday. UGH. But now they're back in VA so now I can focus on cleaning. My mom is driving me crazy. She acts like I do everything wrong, or I don't know what I'm doing... I miss living at the apartment!!!!! I don't know how I'm going to make it. I went to a wedding the past weekend where I had a bit too much wine and danced like crazy with Jon. People wanted encore presentations :P I got to stay in a wonderful hotel- The Hampton Inn (FOR FREE!), and I highly recommend it. There was free warm & fresh chocolate chip cookies!!!! And down pillows might I add. Yeah so.... I'm going back to cleaning now.
