can i just say that there is nothing like naperville in the fall?
the beautiful array of trees with leaves cascading down the sidewalks,
the crisp air that just seems so much fresher than anywhere else.
the town is just buzzing with families old and young.
i have come to a conclusion that i thought i would never come to.
naperville might be my favorite place in the world.
it's where i grew up. and driving around last weekend, of course, i reminisced.
because it was that corner right there where we laughed for an hour,
it was that store that made up my wardrobe ever since the fifth grade,
and that window was where i would run every august for six years to find out who my teacher would be.
it's where i made some of the best friends i will ever have in my life.
where i was taught about love and faith and hope and family.
it was where i learned how to dream.
so why shouldn't it be my favorite place in the world?
it made me ready to face the challenges of growing up and moving on,
it prepared me for the world. so it will always have my heart.
on the bus ride home i discovered a song that was just the perfect assurance that i will one day find all i am looking for...
