(no subject)
college is interesting.
one minute, i am feeling perfectly content.
the next,
i am missing how my life used to be.
i miss my dog.
i miss my family.
i miss my friends.
i miss my bed.
i miss my car.
...
but there is something about this place, even when i'm missing how my life used to be,
that makes me feel as if i'm meant to be here.
maybe it's the way the sun shines upon the quad,
or the way my room just smells so, fresh.
maybe it's realizing that though phone calls aren't nearly as good as hanging out, it will be enough to make these bonds last.
maybe it's just the realization that i truly will grow here, more than i ever even imagined.
so don't get me wrong, it's a rough transition. but i think we're all ready for it.
today at freshman convocation the president ended his speech with,
"once again, good luck, and welcome to your new world"
it really is a new world.
a world that will be extremely difficult to adapt to, but a world that will enrich our lives in ways we never thought possible.
so, i guess, here's to my next great adventure...
