okay, i know it's been a long time since i updated, but i've just received an awesome email and it's got me reeling!

first, the background info:
I went to New Orleans this past january for a big meteorology conference. while there, i went to a career fair, and talked to many many different kinds of meteorology job places. One of which was called Weathernews Inc. They are a global company with offices all over the world, and their center is in Japan.
I talked to this guy David about the company and what they did, and it was all pretty interesting. Then he told me that they were looking for people who spoke english to work in their gobal center (japan). so of course i was interested - i need a job badly, and japan would be awesome. so i sent him a follow up email just before spring break. He replied to it and invited me to send in my resume and cover letter, which i did over spring break. i've just gotten this email back from him:

Stefanie:

I did receive your resume and cover letter early this week.  Thank you very
much.  I will bring your materials forward for consideration by others here
at Weathernews.  As there is interest to pursue your application, I will be
in touch with you.

Thank you again.

David

I'd like to call your attention to that very last line: As there is interest to pursue your application, I will be in touch with you.

I MEAN OMFG!!! THAT IS SO FRICKEN AWESOME!! I COULD BE WORKING IN JAPAN FOR MY FIRST JOB IN METEOROLOGY!!!.

now now, for those of you who would hate to see me go, it would only be for a year or two, it's not a lifelong contract. second, i encourage you to save money and make reservations to visit me, as i already have a growing list just from telling people i applied for the job.
