(no subject)
After what felt like a day through planes and losing my Wednesday... I've arived in Davao. It's very very warm here... and very humid. I was initially sweating due to the increase in moisture... but tolerating it a little better now. It smells, too... a very musty smell of piss is what I'd describe it.. I'm taken aback by the type of life that takes place here.
The region I'm staying at in the Philippines is quite the experience and there's many things I can touch base on. Life is different... much different from what I'm accustomed to back in the United States. The cities are very dirty... vehicles are smoggy.. there's no soap in commercial bathrooms.. I'm told not to drink the water... etc. etc.
I've taken pictures... I'll try to put some time to highlight some contrasts in life here later.

I stopped in yesterday to see my Grandma at the hospital. Apparently she's improved from her status earlier this past weekend when I heard news of her illness. She's still in the ICU on a vent with an oral airway. Vitals on the flowsheet looks good though she can get rather brady (age is my thoght on that). She was very excited to see us grinning from ear to ear. Appeared calm... and in no distress. Though I still question that "albumin/furosemide cocktail" to resolve the ARDS and the nurses not wiring the ECG monitor correctly (though it could be a totally different method from the U.S. but I've got a hunch). It's good to see her again, irregardless, and her looking better.
We'll see how this will turn out. Write more later.
