Looking for something...

I have a friend who refuses to believe there are that many things JKR said she would address in this final book that she did not. Is there an actual list anywhere, making direct comparisons? If not, then just the list of what she promised for this book will do. Does anybody know where I could find this? Thanks.

Almost all of them are addressed in the book. They don't seem obvious because she doesn't come out and say "This was the gleam of truimph" for example, but most of them were addressed.

I would have liked to have known about the Howler to Petunia and why she allowed Harry to stay in OOTP, or about the 24 hours after Lily was killed, but I guess JKR didn't have room to cover it. Not knowing what Dudley saw is depressing or what happened to all the Dursley's in the end especially Dudley since he did 360 turn-around with Harry, but we can't have everything.

Most things were cleared up though.

Agreed. Looks like most of that list has been summed up. Most of the rest of the unanswered questions either look really insignificant (does it really MATTER what Dudley saw with the Dementors?) or can best be left up to the imagination.

Well, for the not so obvious things, is there a list of those also?

Out of the Mugglenet list, the following were not addressed. All the others not listed were addressed in the book even if not obvious to you. A re-read of the book may help you. I also want to point out that many things on that list were not things she said she was going to address, she just never bothered to give us further details or decided not to continue those storylines from previous books. Some of these questions were not addressed to her, they were just things "left open" from the previous novels, that doesn't mean they HAD to be addressed to finish the series ( ... )

Thanks.

Sorry I have been slow to reply about these things. I have been kind of out of it...apparently I have a kidney stone and it's been wrecking life for the past few days.

Another reason to be grateful for carpetbook. If I hadn't already read it I would have had to go to the ER right in the middle of reading the copy from the bookstore, LOL. Can you imagine the dillema.
