It's because of the smell, but it's everywhere. I've been trying to combine other chemicals that should lessen it, but it's on every book I own. It could take days for the smell to become tolerable.

No idea, sorry. [Actually, he has his suspicions, but it's mainly for his own curiosity. Getting whoever did it back would just be troublesome. He'll be singing a different tune in a week.]

In the meantime, you might try dumping some cat litter over your books. It'll help soak up some of the smell.
