Dream

Breakfast: A can of coke and a quarter of a bottle of Jack Daniels. Separate, not mixed. One swig of one, one of the other - repeat until “full”.

I had a dream - something about me being at a film wrap-up or after-party, and Christina Ricci was in it. I must’ve been some big name, an actor is my best guess, and Ricci’s friend - the screenwriter - had the hots for me. She was really young (22?), cute, and had bobbed bright red hair. In the dream, I had the hots for Ricci, so I flirted with the redhead with hopes of getting through to Ricci, even though I didn’t know if she had a boyfriend or not. Anyway I was rather broody when I first got to the party, but by the end of it I put on my people face. I realized it was time for me to leave when it turned light outside (got there late at night). Ashton Kutcher showed up, drunk as hell - he just got done with the premier of his movie. I know that the dream was coming out of my head and memories because I remember reading that his movie came out the same weekend that Speed Racer (the movie) had and was doing just as good for a way smaller budget. So he shows up, I smile - whatever - my dad shows up (my dad? I didn’t even recognize him at first; had to stare at him to realize, “Oh. That guy must be my dad. Huh.” This guy doesn’t look anything like my real-life dad. Wait, why is my dad telling me to go home? Do I live with my dad? What??) and gives me a mean look or points at his watch or something. Again, I gathered it was time to go. The redhead asked what I was going to wear on the red carpet (premier? I have no clue) - we’re outside at this time and it’s then that I realize that the party is in some giant brick warehouse that’s been cleaned up. The entrances are two tall archways on far ends of the front wall with a wall in the middle, forcing people to go to the right or left of the building to get into the hall, or warehouse, or whatever it was. Anyway, it was really sunny outside. I guess it was tropics. We were on the coast, near the beach, on some flat strip of land between the actual beach and the cliffs just beyond. I asked her what she wanted me to wear. “A shoe” she smiles out. “Alright, a shoe”. Smile. She giggles. Keep smiling as I find a taxi. I keep walking down the road for a while, looking for a taxi, but then out of nowhere I decide to hijack the pickup truck next to it and drive around the corner and-

Woke up.

I’ll readily tell you I have been playing way too much Speed Racer. Ricci plays Trixie in the movie. Guess it’s gotten into my subconscious. I don’t even like Ricci.

2 hours later I’m drinking my cup of coffee that I have every day.
