Horror movie

For about 6 months now i've been exploring this idea in my head of a short horror film. Like any good horror film in it's beginnings, there's no real plot. There's just a lot of imagery in my head.

In the past when I initially thought about this film, I envisioned a world with rust just everywhere. Rust covereing everything ( Read more... )

Hey Skyler.

No kidding about the funding, plus the production time. Take the number of minutes the film will be, and multiply that by ten. At the very bare minimum, that's how long it would take to cut and process the footage into the correct order, without any special effects whatsoever.

Film? The world's gone digital. You'd have a really hard time finding something that ran outdated film, too. We do have some converted VHS versions of old 8mm tapes at our house, and really the only difference is that there's no sound and the color is a bit unreal. I'd vote going digital. Then you can do whatever the fuck you want with it when you edit, and it's so much easier to feed into a computer.

My experience with video is really limited, but my dad has adopted it as a hobby, mostly just filming events and stuff and processing the footage for people. He uses a program called Liquid. I use the stupid version, Pinnacle Studio 9.

But anyway, as far as the idea, it's sort of intriguing. It doesn't strike me as so much of a horror movie. It's a... grotesque commentary, but on what I'm not sure. Keep it around, I like it. It reminds me of something I can't put my finger on. And, bizarrely, it reminds me of a Linkin Park music video I saw years ago.

Alright, I left you a comment.
