1. No. I don't think you have to at all, and even if someone said you did, that's not the kind of thing you can force anyway. If someone said, "You have to love your parents," it doesn't mean you will, but I guess you could pretend to. I don't think children owe their parents anything. I generally get pissed off when I hear people say things like "respect your elders." Respect and love the people who deserve to be respected and loved.
2. I don't really want people driving around high, and it seems to me like that would happen more if it were legalized. Also, I think it would make kids more likely to try it without thinking about what the hell they were doing first. And as much as it is a "gateway drug" or whatever the hell people say, that would be a negative - as much as people say "pot's legal so it must be ok so these other drugs are too," and that gets back to the not thinking thing. That's what I can think of right off hand. But I'm for it.

i think this salt scrub i made at bath junkie has inspired all these pot questions.
so when i move i want to join your athiest freethinkers society. it seems right up my alley. why are you so much older than me? it still doesn't seem like you are. it didn't when we were dancing either.

Why are you so much younger than me? It doesn't seem like you are either. It sucks, doesn't it? I mean if I go somewhere else after college we'll only be together for like a year. I hated it when I had to leave so soon after we became friends in Louisiana.
YAY! When, exactly, is your spring break? Ooh ooh I was just remembering...you probably saw this in my LJ but every Thursday night we have Atheist Abbey Night at a local restaurant. You totally need to come if you are here over a Thursday! It will be awesome.
Oh, and people for the most part don't ever put subjects in comments. So there's no need to come up with something to say if you don't have anything. But I kinda like seeing my name there, so you can keep doing that if you want to, hehe. :)

What, do you have to know everyone that I know, Pavel?
This is a girl I used to dance with when I lived in Louisiana. She's 4 years younger than us, and we really got close my senior year of high school, but then I left for college. We've somewhat stayed in touch (I convinced her to get an LJ not too long ago because I knew it would help), and apparently, she is seriously thinking about coming to UTD, so I am really excited.
2. People are goddamn lazy and irresponsible enough as it is. I've seen Marijuana turn ambitious young man into glassy-eyed slackers, and promising young ladies into wanton sluts.
So I guess what I'm saying it, only legalize it for women.
Seriously, though, downsides: People will lose ambition. Economy will crumble. The lazy bums won't be able to support themselves, and will drain welfare and their children.
On the other hand, once welfare runs out due to shitty economics, we'll be left with a people who are not genetically predisposed to addiction and sloth. America benefits, genetically speaking.
On the gripping hand, can America recover from the grim period in between?
