Carl's Difficulties: Friendship is magic?

The fairies in the foreground with auras out are from left to right a nature fairy, a sun fairy, and probably an air fairy. Or perhaps water or electricity, I haven't tried those yet. Magnus is a moon fairy so he can stay up all night, like I do during my vacation.

I started yet another new game, after Carl's Difficulty Mod took a new and interesting direction. It still halves income, increases property tax, magnifies negative moodlets and all that jazz, making the game seem more like America and less like Norway, as I have reported before.

But the mod now revamps the whole friendship system. Making new friends is hard, keeping old friends is easier. Shared traits and likes/dislikes matter. Friends and family fill up your social meter much more than strangers. Also friends - especially from work - will boost your career now, which for some reason it didn't before.

Charisma and logic are the two new star skills. Charisma raises the limit to how fast you can befriend new people, and reduces the backlash from negative work performance. Logic is a multiplier to work performance, so people with low logic will struggle to get promoted. (Unless their friends help them out, evidently.)

I'm curious how this will work out for a traditionally introverted character like my self-sim. Should definitely take him out of his (and my) comfort zone for a while at least. I mean, I could just have him stay home and write novels and tend the garden, even at half price that is definitely not going to have him starve. But I want to see how this works out with a typical go-to-work career. I will probably come back with a report later, unless I see something else shiny and run off after that instead.
