Basically it was a crazy weekend.
Sunday - I went over to Rendi's, and we gave Sheik, Brandy and Cash baths, and clipped them, and cleaned tack. We spent forever getting everyone ready, and then we feed all the horses for Pam, and helped them hitch up the truck and trailer. Around ten that night we had to run down the road to get some stuff for the trailer from their neighbor, and we proceeded to spend the next three or so hours helping her Dad fix their truck. We never did get the lights to work on the trailer though. It was so funny helping him though, because apparently he can't remember my name, even though I've been friends with Rendi for about four years now. He started calling me 'Hannah'. He also tried to make small talk when we were waiting for Rendi to get some stuff from the house. It was so sad/funny. But eventually we finally got to go inside, and got some sleep. Rendi woke me up a few times though, talking in her sleep. [she must have been dreaming she was talking on the phone. "love you" "be back later.' 'alright' 'that's about it.' she always talks in her sleep when I'm over, but usually it's not real words. lol.
Monday - We got up at like six, got dressed, then spent an hour trying to print out signs for the horses stalls [Their names, our numbers so they could contact us if anything went wrong] because their printers wouldn't work. lol. My mom got there around eight thirty with our trailer, and she took Cash, while Rendi, Pam and I took Sheik and Brandy. We had to stop at a feed store to get some stuff, and Rendi and I had to run across main street to get to the bank to cash some checks. Farm girls can not cross busy streets. LOL. We waited for like fiffteen minutes and finally we just ran across the street and hoped if anyone was coming, they would stop. But, we lived. haha. After that we met the rest of the people in our club at this gas station, and we spent the next three hours driving. [it's so funny going with horses. Every time we stopped for gas people asked us where we were going, what kind of horses we had, what we show in, etc, etc.] Eventually we got there, and we had to take the horses in to be checked in. Sheik freaked out at a drain in the road, and jumped around a lot while they checked to make sure that the coggins matched the horse. Then Rendi and I waited in that barn while our parents got the stalls ready. It's pretty hard to have two people and hold three horses, lol Finally we got them settled in, and unloaded everything we needed from the trucks. We went to lunch after that [it was like three] We went to the worlds slowest McDonalds, and then to the dollar store for hair stuff we forgot. When we got back to the barns, everyone wanted to go watch the barrel racing, even thought it was getting late, and we still had a lot of prep to do with the horses. We had to completely clip Bo, Hannah's horse, and Bella, Andreya's horse, and had to do some touch ups on me and Rendi's horses. It took like two hours, and then we had to finish their manes. We didn't get out of their until at least eight.
My Mom went to check into the hotel room, and Hannah, Rendi, Hannah's Mom went to the gas station to get some drinks. I completely forgot and went to the gas station wearing shorts and cowboy boots. LOL. And when we got back to the hotel I wanted to get my flip flops, but the truck was locked, and I didn't feel like getting in the key and coming back out. So I was like "Well, I guess I get to wear boots to the pool." and some guy that was walking by stops and stares at me and goes "You're going to ride a bull?" LOL, it was freaking hilarous. And I think they completely thought I rode bulls or something, because every time we saw them they would all stare at me.
Anyway, we finally got to swim, in the dark. haha. we stayed out there till the pool closed, and then the pizza came. We finally got to sleep at about midnight.
Tuesday - we got up at five thirty. Fought over the bathroom, took everything back to our cars, and went back to the show grounds. Getting two horses ready for a show is completely insane. I was in the first two classes, one right after each other, with two different horses, and needed to be ready first and no one would help me. lol. But I managed it, barely. In the end, it was probably terrible show, at least for the first three classes. Brandy and Sheik placed so low, and in showmanship we placed low too, even though we did way better than a lot of the people there. It was just really disapointing.
After those disaster classes, I had trail left. I took Brandy in the warm up ring, and things were going really well...when Brandy decided she should lay down-with me on her. I can't beliveve she would do something like that. It completely caught me off guard. She put her head down, and I thought she was just going to itch her leg, no big deal. I looked up and started to say something to Rendi, and next thing i know Brandy is laying down. I did not get off of her in time, and she did fall on my leg, but the sand was so deep in that ring that she didn't crush my leg. I hit my hip really hard too, but same thing with the dirt. I think I managed to scare Rendi the most, lol, since she was right there watching it happen. She got off Cash probably faster than she ever has before. lol. And my Mom sure made it over to us fast. But I was fine, and Brandy was too. It was just weird, but stuff happens. So I finished warming her up, and did trail. Trail was pretty good, but I got DQ'd for using two hands to ride, and you're only allowed to use on in trail. I knew I would probably get DQ'd for that, though,so it wasn't a surprise.
After that I watched Rendi and Hannah do trail, and then watched them in Western pleasure, we spent the next two hours cleaning up the stalls, and loading back up the trucks. We got everyone loaded up and headed home. We went back to Rendi's, and unloaded our horses, and then Mom and I came home
So it was the worst show I've been in so far. By far the worst. I still qualifed for state, and am going, but bleh, it'll probably be just as bad. So the spring show season is basically a bust. I'm going to show Logan in the fall, and I have all summer to work with him, so maybe that'll go better.
