A/N This started as a drabble for
whosthat then I was convinced to make it longer and now it's just out of control. Also I'm nervous I haven't posted anything in a while that wasn't a drabble. Hope you like it!
A/N 2: Beware of mistakes.
Jaejoong heard voices. It sounded like Yoochun, no it was Changmin, no was Yoochun. It was both of them. He could hear both of them and it sounded like Yoochun was crying. God he hated the sound of Yoochun crying, it always made him want to cry. Goddamnit.
He tried to move and groaned in severe pain.
"Look, he's moving. He's waking up!"
It was Yoochun and Jaejoong felt like his head was about to explode. As he attempted to move again his body resisted.
"Open your eyes, Jaejoong," he heard Changmin demand urgently.
There was so much noise, people talking; he could sense such commotion surrounding him but it was too difficult just opening his eyes. He couldn't even understand why he was unable to do it.
"Go and check on Yunho," he could hear Yoochun telling someone, someone he figured was Changmin.
Yunho. What happened to Yunho? Jaejoong struggled with himself to do something, anything.
He could feel himself start to panic and urged himself to breathe but it hurt so much to even do that.
"Come on, Jae, come on, open your eyes," Yoochun urged and Jaejoong felt him grab his hand. His grip was strong and encouraging. He tried desperately to squeeze back, tried to open his eyes again.
What happened to Yunho? What happened to him? Why couldn't he wake up?
"They're taking Yunho into surgery." Changmin's voice was back. "They said it shouldn't be more than a few hours."
They were at the hospital, Yunho was going into surgery. Why were they at the hospital? What happened?
Jaejoong felt himself slipping, Yoochun's voice growing faintly quiet.
The last thing he remembered was Yunho screaming his name.
The first thing he saw was the bright white ceiling above him. He blinked then closed his eyes again and attempted to move but his shoulders hurt and his body ached painfully while a grunt escaped past his dry lips.
"Oh my god, you're awake." Yoochun came into view, "Changmin, get in here, he's awake. You son of a bitch what the fuck were you thinking?" Yoochun leaned over and threw his arms around his body, tight as a rope. He hugged him so closely Jaejoong felt as if he may pass out.
It felt like fire under his skin and Jaejoong cried out painfully.
"Oh fuck, sorry," he broke away and apologized wholeheartedly. Jaejoong could see the relief in his eyes, he could see the worry. Without a word Jaejoong knew Yoochun had been freaking out and it was upsetting. He just wanted to know what was going on.
"Good to see you're awake," Changmin appeared beside Yoochun looking relieved. "Yunho is still in surgery," he added and Jaejoong felt a different kind of pain in his chest.
"What happened?" he groaned huskily, blinking as his eyes fought to close themselves again he was almost certain he had drugs floating around in his veins. "Surgery?"
What the fuck was going on? What happened? Why was he in the hospital and why was Yunho in surgery?
"Go tell the nurses he's awake," Yoochun instructed as he turned to Changmin. He nodded in compliance. "Tell Junsu and the family too."
Jaejoong watched him kiss Yoochun before he left. It was so fucking sweet.
He needed answers to so many questions but Yoochun knew that already and started answering most of those questions as soon as Changmin left.
"We didn't see everything. We were coming out of the café across the street but we saw you and Yunho talking then you turned away to cross and a car," he paused for a moment to gather himself and Jaejoong remembered talking to Yunho, "a car was coming and you didn't see it. We heard him scream your name and then he ran and pushed you out of the way but he. He-" he stopped as emotion rushed to his eyes and his chin began to tremble ever so slightly. "I didn't see everything, Jaejoong but fuck, thank god you were still in front of the hospital."
"He's alive though, right?" Jaejoong asked hopefully. He didn't even know at what point his eyes started releasing tears. "Yunho is alive?" he demanded to know, his head pulsing with devastation, his heart pounding through his chest.
Jaejoong felt Yoochun's fingers wiping at his eyes with care. "He's in surgery, he um," he cleared his throat, "the driver, he must've seen you because we heard him slam on his breaks but Yunho flew a few feet and there was a lot of blood. He wasn't conscious when we got there and they were trying to get him into surgery."
"Oh god," Jaejoong closed his eyes and remembered their last conversation. "Oh god, Yoochun, he was trying to help me," he cried too consumed with guilt. "He wanted me to stay with him. Oh god. The third-" Jaejoong gasped and closed his eyes. "My mother, my father," he wept, "not Yunho. Oh god, Yunho."
Jaejoong blinked and found Junsu standing at his side. He was watching him, the way he used to look over at his mother when she was still alive. He smiled as soon as their eyes met and he looked relieved and overjoyed.
"I hoped you'd wake up again. I think you fainted," Junsu reached out and tucked an errant wisp of hair from his eyes. "Why you gotta be such a drama queen?" he smiled and Jaejoong smiled past the pain. He never imagined it would be so wonderful to see Junsu.
"Yunho?" he asked and Junsu nodded in expectation.
"He's good," he answered, "the surgery went well. The doctors are positive he'll make a full recovery. There was a lot of internal bleeding but the damage was very minimal," he told him. "Yunho's been asking to see you but he's got a broken leg, some broken ribs, dislocated shoulder so you can understand that it'll take a couple days before he can get up." Junsu's eyes soften and he looked right at Jaejoong, "he's always the fucking hero."
Jaejoong felt a rush of relief. "I want to see him," he tried to sit up but felt pain and fell back down, he turned to Junsu pleadingly. "Help me," he asked and Junsu nodded as he extended his hand and Jaejoong clamped on to it, using his strength to help him sit up.
It took quiet the effort and his shoulders and lower back were burning like sin under his skin but he managed to sit up.
"It would've been easier if we just used the button," Junsu pressed something and a quiet buzz of the bed vibrated under him as it rose up to meet his back.
"Why is my body on fire?" he groaned as the pillows fell to cup the small off his back. Junsu reached out almost instantly to lift them and adjust his position for better comfort. "My shoulders hurt and my skin if fucking burning, didn't they give me any meds?" he asked and Junsu smiled helplessly. "How's my face?" he asked urgently. "Get me a mirror."
Junsu rolled his eyes and looked around the room with no results. "Calm down. Get a hold of yourself, your face is fine; just some mild bruising and by mild I mean half your face is peeled off," he flat lined with perfect seriousness.
Jaejoong was sure he suffered a mild heart attack as his hands flew up with sever and intense pain along his shoulders. He could feel a bandage on his cheek which he hadn't noticed before.
"Oh stop it, you're gorgeous," Junsu reached over and took his hands away very gently. "You hit the ground hard, didn't break your nose which was amazing considering how much blood came out of it," he spoke and leaned against the bed rail. "You got some road burn on your cheek but it's not bad. They said there could be faint scaring but hey, scars are sexy, so relax."
Jaejoong wanted to cry. "Did they get a plastic surgeon in here?" he asked pitifully. "What else happened to me? My body fucking hurts."
"Honestly, you haven't really been my concern. No offense," Junsu addressed so kindly Jaejoong couldn't even bring himself to feel offended. Not that he would, not when he remembered Yunho was somewhere else in the hospital. "But I think Yoochun said something about a dislocated shoulder and bruised ribs," he told him. "You can't leave your bed unless the nurses say you can," he added and pulled out his phone. "I should be going to check on Yunho, I don't trust Yoochun and Changmin to bring him any comfort." He smiled in jest, "Changmin clearly has no personality and Yoochun, well, Yoochun is kinda awesome isn't he?" Junsu smiled. "I like them both." Junsu turned thoughtful. "You think they'd consider an open relationship?"
Jaejoong considered for a moment that Junsu could be insane and was prepared to tell him so since Yoochun would never consider sharing Changmin, ever. The best thing, he decided would be to ignore it and he smiled. "My family?" he asked.
Junsu looked over his shoulder at the door and turned back with a small shrug. "As far as I saw, they haven't left. Should I let them in when I leave?" he asked and Jaejoong nodded pathetically. He watched him reach over and fluff his pillow and make sure the blankets were secured around him. He moved the tray with a pitcher of water and some ice chip beside the bed. He was so comforting.
"Thank you, Junsu," he called to him. "Tell Yunho," he smiled to avoid crying, "tell him I miss him, tell him I'm going to see him soon."
As soon as Junsu left all his sisters piled in, every single one of them cried while they told him how they though he had died. Luckily their tears didn’t last long and he was able to talk about the arrangements for his mother.
They planned to take her back home and they took care of everything so he had nothing to worry about. They only wanted him to recuperate and get better. Then the conversation turned and they spoke about Yunho.
"He looks terrible," one said and Jaejoong turned away. He couldn't look at them, not when he knew he had been the cause. They liked Yunho, they never liked his boyfriends, they detested all of them but they liked Yunho, who wasn't even technically his boyfriend. He couldn't tell them it was his fault and the guilt of it all was horribly painful. "But he's awake and asked about you. He didn't even care about what happened to him, he just wanted to make sure you were ok. My god, Jaejoong, he's kind of amazing."
"He's good people, Jaejoong," his favorite sister moved through the bulk of them and Jaejoong reached for her hand, grasping it as a treasured lifeline. They were all he had left. They all were silenced for a moment before she spoke again. "We don't talk about it but, Jae, we like him. All of us like him."
"I'm glad," he said softly and reached up towards his neck, his fingers closing in around the cross Yunho gave him. It warmed against his finger tips. He thought of Yunho.
"…So I'm always with you and you can remember to breathe."
Jaejoong tried not to cry, tried so desperately not to do it. "He's wonderful," he sighed and closed his eyes.
"You're tired, we'll let you sleep."
Jaejoong nodded and pressed himself against his pillows. "Can you ask the nurses when I'll be able to leave and see Yunho?"
"Of course," they answered and Jaejoong appreciated the kiss on his cheek from every sister.
He watched them leave before he wiggled his legs to make sure they worked, he was sure they would or someone would've told him they didn't and Jaejoong was aware it was a bit irrational but he felt better knowing he could for sure.
A nurse came in to check him out.
"You've got some color, that's good," she took his temperature.
"When can I see my friend?" he asked immediately while she then moved to take his blood pressure.
She hummed while the machine computed his results. "You can see him whenever you like," she said distractedly.
Jaejoong had the faint impression she didn't know Yunho couldn't waltz into the room like his other guests but he ran with it.
"I want to see him now," he struggled to sit up and was abruptly stopped.
"Where do you think you're going?" she asked him with her hand pressed against his arm. It seemed she had figured out Yunho was not a normal visitor. "You are in no shape to be walking about so lay back down and allow your body to recuperate."
Jaejoong groaned. "I don't mind using a chair, I just need to see him, it's very important," he explained. She gave him a disapproving frown and he glared at her almost immediately. He would not be swayed, he felt fine, except that he felt like he had been hit by the car himself, he could only image what Yunho felt like.
Yunho.
Jaejoong sighed. "I'm going to be honest with you, I'm going to find my friend and I will do it with or without your permission. I'm not hooked up to anything so there is nothing to stop me from leaving," he threatened and the nurse, whose name he didn't bother finding out glanced up from his chart at him.
"If you're going to be difficult we will strap you down. Your body has been through trauma, it needs time to heal properly. I don't know who this friend is but I'm sure he will understand," she explained while writing down something on his chart, just before putting it back. "Be good, I don't like calling security on my patients," she smiled and Jaejoong glared.
It seemed, he was stuck.
Jaejoong watched her leave and wondered when someone would walk through the door, luckily it didn't take long and he found Changmin walking through with some food.
"Are you hungry? You have to be hungry you haven't eaten in awhile. This hospital crap will kill you," he grabbed for the roll away tray and brought it over his bed, "Yoochun will be here soon, he went to drop off some food to Yunho and that creeper Junsu. The only thing that kid has going for him is his ass," Changmin snorted, "my god is his ass perfect. Don't tell Yoochun I said that," he pointed a plastic fork at him and Jaejoong nodded.
He watched him set the cartons of food out for him and listened to him ramble for a few minutes. When he was finished Jaejoong moved the tray away and looked at him firmly.
"I want to see Yunho," he told him and Changmin nodded.
"I've already got a chair outside for you, I didn't want to bring it in because your nurse looks like a real bitch and I didn't feel like arguing with a woman in front of your family. They're starting to like me," he cracked a smug smile which Jaejoong found positively annoying.
He didn't want to concentrate on that, his main concern was getting to Yunho. "Well get it in here, I want to see him," he instructed and Changmin nodded in compliance.
"But you've got to eat first," he told him and by his tone Jaejoong could tell he was serious. He had never spent so much time around Changmin but it appeared when he was serious he expected people to listen to him so Jaejoong nodded to appease him.
So he ate. It consisted of some delicious kimchi and meat.
"Get the chair," he told him after he finished what was left in his mouth and Changmin nodded satisfied with the amount he had.
In his time of knowing Changmin Jaejoong never expected they would be cohorts in minor crime, it was rather exciting and he found it slightly exhilarating, despite the pain when he sat in the chair with much help from Changmin. Laying in the bed he never really understood the extent of damage to his body.
"Fuck this hurts," he groaned but did his best to pull through. "Come on lets go," he told Changmin and soon they were off. "You've been to his room right?" he asked as they managed to creep past the nurse's station without so much as a look in their direction.
"Of course," Changmin snorted in derision, "You don't think I'd try and take you somewhere I didn't know or are you that dense?" he asked him haughtily. "Give me some fucking credit," he snorted.
Jaejoong rolled his eyes and tightened his flimsy hospital robe. "Just get me to the right room," he said and looked forward to seeing Yunho.
As soon as Changmin stopped Jaejoong felt his nerves spark. His body was strumming with anticipation.
Changmin didn't move forward as he expected and he looked over his shoulder.
Changmin looked hesitant for a moment and it made Jaejoong worry. "Um," he spoke softly and cleared his throat before continuing. "He looks rough," Changmin warned carefully. "I just wanted to warn you," he said.
Jaejoong didn't care if he looked like a monster, all he wanted to was be in the same room with him, to apologize. Jaejoong breathed in deeply. He needed to apologize to him.
Jaejoong wanted to tell Yunho he loved him. He loved him and needed him like the air he breathed.
It was a scary realization that he could fall so desperately for someone he just met, who didn't live where he lived and it made it so much more complicated. Jaejoong took a deep breath and waved his hand forward.
"I don't care," he told him and waited until the chair started rolling again.
Changmin nodded. "OK, let's do this," he opened the door and popped his head in. "In the mood for some company?" he called out.
"Always," Yunho's voice sent chills down his spine and he wished he had the capacity to get up and run into the room.
Changmin opened the door completely and maneuvered Jaejoong in.
His anticipation was strumming against his skin just to see him and as soon as he was through the doorway his eyes searched for a moment before he saw Yunho laying. He had bruises on his face and although he looked positively awful his eyes, the kind, compassionate eyes that seemed to read his soul were the same.
"Jaejoong," Yunho sat up a little more, grimacing through evident pain. "What are you doing here?" he asked him reaching for his hair, smoothing it down, pressing the wrinkles on his gown, primping, despite the evident marks of his act of heroism.
Changmin rolled him beside the bed. "So, I think Yoochun is calling me, I'll take the call outside," he rolled on the balls of his feet and turned to leave. "You guys ok?"
Jaejoong watched Yunho nod. He couldn't take his eyes off him.
"Thank you for stopping by, Changmin," he smiled and it was still wonderful, still perfect.
Jaejoong thought he saw Changmin blush, which was insane because Changmin never blushed, not for Yoochun not for anyone. But it looked like even Changmin could fall prey to the charms that Yunho wove. They didn't say anything to each other until Changmin left and Jaejoong couldn't look away from him.
"You look amazing," Yunho smiled and Jaejoong grasped at his chair. "How are you feeling?"
Jaejoong took a few deep breaths, drinking him in, remembering the sound of his voice, the way it could comfort him in seconds.
"Why are you crying?" he asked him softly and Jaejoong wiped at his eyes.
"Because I almost killed you," he answered painfully and tried to keep his voice under control. Yunho looked like he had been hit by a car, he looked pained and damaged and wonderful. Jaejoong clenched his fingers around the wheels and used every single little ounce of strength he had in his body to lift himself up from the chair. His legs felt weak as he moved the few steps to the bed.
"What are you doing, Jaejoong? Sit back down," he instructed and moved to stop him but his injuries seemed too painful and he leaned back with a groan.
Jaejoong ignored him and grabbed hold of the bed and through sheer willpower and a little help of something else he managed to climb on the bed and ignored the unbearable pain in his body.
"You're insane," Yunho breathed and groaned in discomfort as Jaejoong's body buckled from under him and he crumbled to the bed quite unceremoniously. Yunho did his best to move for him but it was in vain and Jaejoong laughed, he knew they must've looked absolutely ridiculous.
"I can't go further, I think I used up all my energy," Jaejoong admitted, finding as much comfort in the very little space he had beside Yunho as possible. It was still severely uncomfortable and he attempted to position himself. He managed to move an inch. "Goddamnit," he muttered.
"I can't move," Yunho admitted apologetically and Jaejoong looked up at him. "I'm kind of broken right now, otherwise I'd help," he offered a sincere smile. "What are you doing here?" he asked again and Jaejoong belly rolled onto his back with a sharp cry. He felt Yunho's hand on him. "Stop, you're hurting yourself."
Jaejoong groaned and scooted the best he could just a little more until, Yunho groaned when he pressed down too roughly against his shoulder. "I'm sorry," he apologized and Yunho grunted.
"It's ok," he hissed and shuffled a bit. Jaejoong adjusted one more time to give him more comfort. "Ok, ok, there, that's better," he sighed shakily. "Why are you crying?" touched his face.
Jaejoong closed his eyes and nuzzled against Yunho's warm palm. He didn't want to cry like a baby, he didn't want to bawl his eyes out but seeing Yunho and hearing Yunho and being beside Yunho drove him into an emotional wreck. Jaejoong sniffed and grabbed at Yunho's gown desperately.
"I'm sorry, Yunho," he gulped in harsh air into his burning lungs. "I'm so sorry I almost killed you."
Jaejoong felt Yunho's hand wipe at his tears and he looked up into his glistening eyes and it almost looked like he was crying too.
"I'm sorry for being such a fucking idiot. I shouldn't have done that, if I hadn't been so fucking stupid-" Jaejoong murmured.
"Be quiet," Yunho reached over through evident pain and Jaejoong found himself with the urge to cry more, it had been his entire fault. If he hadn't been so emotionally disabled he would've had the sense to stay with Yunho. Yunho was willing to comfort him, help him work through the pain and devastation of losing his mother.
God, his mother.
"I'm sorry, Yunho," Jaejoong whispered and buried his face in his shoulder.
"Stop apologizing," Yunho said softly, he touched his hair and ran his fingers under his eyes to stop the tears. It was so fucking loving Jaejoong wanted to hate it but he couldn't because no one in his entire life treated him with such tenderness and love as Yunho had in so little time.
"I love you," Jaejoong whispered, looking him straight in the eyes. He needed Yunho to know how he felt. He needed Yunho to understand his real feelings.
He didn't expect him to respond but hoped he would. He wanted Yunho to tell him he loved him back. He needed Yunho to feel the exact same way if only to justify that his feelings were worth something.
"What are you doing in here?"
Jaejoong tore his eyes from Yunho and found his own nurse looking at them with such frustration and annoyance in her expression it was literally palpable in the small room.
Jaejoong buried his face in Yunho's shoulder as if to hide himself, which was clearly futile.
"I thought I told you to stay in your bed," she spoke angrily and Jaejoong peeked over at her.
"I'm pretty sure I told you I was going to see him no matter what," he reciprocated with the slightest hint of annoyance. She glared at him and Jaejoong didn't care. "I needed to see him," he said matter of fact and clenched his fingers around Yunho's gown to hold on. If he was going to be forced to leave, Yunho was coming with him, it was not negotiable.
"This is not appropriate," the nurse, whose name he still hadn't bothered to find out, pointed out. "You should not be on that bed," she added and Jaejoong rolled his eyes while he looked at Yunho. "Come on, you've got to go."
She would have to forcibly remove him from the bed, which, it appeared she was willing to do when she walked out then reentered with two men who looked ready to wrestle him out of the bed, which Jaejoong had not counted on.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way. It's up to you," she threatened and Jaejoong looked at Yunho. He hadn't even gotten the chance to get a response to his confession. He did not want to leave without one, whether it was Yunho telling him to fuck off for almost getting him killed or it was an I Love You. He just wanted something from him before he had to go away.
"Yunho-"
"Get him off that bed," he heard the nurse speaking and just as Jaejoong heard them grunt in response to her orders he visually pleaded.
Yunho smiled and touched his hair. "Jaejoong I lo-"
In that moment, that horrible moment Changmin flew into the room. "Jaejoong, watch out, that gorilla knows you're-"
They all turned to him and Jaejoong sighed in resignation while Changmin looked horrified to see them all in the room.
"Of fuck," he muttered. "I mean."
"Get him off that bed," the nurse instructed immediately, "you get out of here," she pointed to Changmin, "And you, you know better," she addressed Yunho and Yunho offered a slight smile.
"I'm incapacitated, I couldn't very well throw him out," he explained and Jaejoong groaned in pain as he was helped off the bed. It was a much smoother transaction than his quest to get onto the bed. The men were surprisingly gentle.
"Thanks," he muttered grumpily under his breath as he was place carefully into his wheel chair. Changmin rushed towards him and took over for them.
"I've got it," he said firmly and they stepped aside. "You know, you're a real pain in the as-"
"That's enough, Changmin," Yunho spoke up and Jaejoong looked at him. Changmin glanced at Yunho, then at the nurse and nodded. "Make sure Jaejoong rests," he asked and Changmin nodded again.
"Can't I just move into this room?" Jaejoong suggested as soon as Changmin began to wheel him out. "Just because you kicked me out right now doesn't mean I won't come back and next time I'll use a chair to keep you out-" he had never been so disrespectful to anyone before but that moment, having to leave Yunho, respect was out the door and there was no going back. "So, I'll go now but I'll be back."
"Is he normally this stubborn?" she turned to Yunho who smiled.
"Yes," Changmin answered for him and began to roll him out again.
"Wait," Jaejoong put his foot down to stop their forward motion and regretted almost instantly when it hurt like hell. "Oh for fucks sakes," he groaned.
He heard his nurse snort in derision. "This is why I told you to stay in bed," she walked over to Yunho's bed and Jaejoong glared at her. "How are you feeling?" she asked him, completely disregarding Jaejoong's presence.
"In pain," he answered, his eyes skirting past her to Jaejoong and they softened. "I would really appreciate some company," he told her as she fitted his arm with a blood pressure cuff. "I understand there are rules but he's very important to me and I think it would help the healing process if he were in here with me," he pointed to the empty bed. "Besides, that's empty."
Jaejoong watched the nurse write down his stats and briefly met her gaze when she glanced over at him.
"Also, I could keep my eye on him and make sure he doesn't do anything he'd not supposed to," Yunho added with a heart melting smile that affected everyone in the room, even Changmin who sighed dreamily. At least it sounded that way.
Jaejoong held his breath as his nurse pursed her lips together in thought while she finished with his chart and then smiled as they looked at each other. "You are dangerous," she wagged her finger at him and Yunho grinned pleased with himself. "I will see what I can do, not for him," she narrowed her eyes at Jaejoong, "but because I like you. You're a good kid and very handsome." She reached out and patted his covered leg before walking out. "You can go," she instructed the two men who had helped him off Yunho's bed.
They crossed paths for just a moment and Jaejoong glared at her, which was all he could really do. "You don't want to battle with me, young man, I will always win," she leaned in closely and Jaejoong could smell her coffee filled breath. "Get back to your room until I decide to move you."
He turned his nose and looked away. "Ok," he acknowledged and watched her leave. The moment she left Jaejoong commanded Changmin to roll him back to Yunho's bed. "Help me up," he asked and Changmin, although hesitantly did as Jaejoong asked. He was careful and gentle and Jaejoong knew he would have to give Changmin a present for his kindness. Changmin was the best thing in the world and he was grateful towards him for it. Yunho looked a little surprised as Jaejoong pressed himself against the rails of his bed and reached for his hand. "I love you," he repeated because it needed repeating. "I fucking love you and it's ok if you don't say it back because I've put you through hell so I understand but I need you to know," Jaejoong leaned in, past the pain of the rails digging into his chest, "I need you to know I love you."
"I should go," Changmin spoke hesitantly from behind and Jaejoong flushed with embarrassment, he had forgotten about Changmin for the briefest moment.
"No, you don't need to go, Changmin," Yunho told him with eyes that were so kind and filled with such emotion, "I love you too, Jaejoong," he smiled and looked a little emotional. "I wish I could kiss you."
Jaejoong laughed past his swimming vision. "Fuck it, it's worth the pain," he groaned and leaned over the rails and pressed his mouth to Yunho's.
It was soft and gentle, it was perfect and loving and Jaejoong thought wondered what the fuck was wrong with him to possibly ruin something as beautiful as the relationship he could build with such a wonderful man. Jaejoong didn't want to cry but knew he probably would.
"This is totally uncomfortable," Changmin spoke softly and they laughed as their lips broke apart. Jaejoong moved away.
"Help me," he asked Changmin and it didn't take much effort to get him back into his wheelchair. He looked at Yunho, beautiful, broken and damaged Yunho and he smiled. "I will be back," he promised and Yunho nodded with content.
Jaejoong felt like he was floating as Changmin wheeled him down the hall. Changmin was talking, something about Yoochun, something about Junsu, but he couldn't hear him, didn't even care because Yunho had told he loved him too.
Yunho loved him back.
"He did say I love you, right?" Jaejoong asked, wrapping his arm around Changmin's neck as he helped him back into bed.
Changmin grunted as he lifted him back to the mattress. "Yeah he sure did," he groaned when Jaejoong almost hit him in the face with his elbow. "Watch out will you!?" He settled him in the bed. "God, you're fucking heavy."
Jaejoong ignored him and thought of Yunho. "Do you think we'll make it?" he asked him, settling as comfortably as possible against his pillows. He couldn't even feel the pain anymore; he was too high on the power of love.
Changmin made sure he was tucked in properly which was kind of him. "I don't know," he said punching at his pillows to give him the best comfort. "How do you feel about long distance relationships?" he asked distractedly.
Jaejoong felt himself stumble in the clouds. "Long distance," he repeated and Changmin nodded.
"I don't know if you're aware of this but you don't live here," he reminded him and it wasn't that Jaejoong had forgotten, it was just that he hadn't placed too much thought on it. "Are you planning to move?" he asked him and just as soon as the words left his mouth Yoochun and Junsu walked in.
"You can't move into our apartment unless you're going to pay rent," Junsu breezed past the door and walked right beside Changmin who looked instantly annoyed. "Considering I don't pay any, it would give Yunho a break."
"You're not going to move here, Jaejoong," Yoochun added as he shoved Junsu away from Changmin and slid his hand into his. Their hands looked perfect for each other and Yoochun gave Junsu a wicked little toying wink that made Junsu roll his eyes. "You're not leaving me and you can't leave your job or Heechul will murder you."
In the thrill of the moment he had forgotten he didn't live there. His home, his job were hours away. His life had so easily settled in a place that wasn't home.
It was almost devastating having to actually realize it.
"How could you not even think about that?" Yoochun asked softly.
Jaejoong had come to be with his dying mother, with the rest of the family who followed her. He knew he would go searching for temporary comfort, as he normally when he was single and stumbled upon distressing situation but there had been no plans to fall in love. He was supposed to go home and get back to life.
