And the truth shall set you free...

2 Days ago I posted a call to Republicans on why Terri Schiavo had turned into a politcal puppet. And her is the answer ... so they can make the judges look bad. That's right the plan now is to make all "liberal judges" bad guys, to give the Republicans leverage to get conservative nut jobs in place, to replace retired, or dying judges around the nation. Some more interesting information come out of a column from the Tampa Tribune. Now I would go ahead and say yes, he is more on the left, but insteas of reading it in a manner of "oh bull shit" or some of the more conservative who read this might so "oh bull plop" why don't you read some of the quotes out of these people. ``She talks and she laughs and she expresses likes and discomforts,'' DeLay lied the other day (Tampa Tribune link below for full article). Just an example of what Tom DeLay a man who knows nothing about ethics tried to convince people about a brain dead Terri Schiavo. And heres a good nugget:
As the Republican Party memo circulated among GOP senators noted, Terri Schiavo was, sadly, merely a political dupe to appeal to the Christian conservative base.

``This is a great political issue, because Senator [Bill] Nelson of Florida has already refused to become a co-sponsor and this is a tough issue for Democrats,'' the memo argued. (Tampa Tribune article in link below)

Meanwhile on another front we are seeing an interesting poll. More than two thirds of those who consider themselves evangelicals and conservatives disapprove of the intervention by congress and the President. Bush's approval rating (which by the way previous to this was below 50 percent at 49) has dropped to 43%. 43% good God how are you the President? Anyways 8 of 10 people said they feel sympathy for Schiavo's parents, but 7 of 10 said they are sympathetic to her husband.

This comes from another CBS source (which some may snicker at but hey, don't forget the President ruined them too):

An overwhelming 82 percent of the public believes the Congress and President should stay out of the matter. There is widespread cynicism about Congress' motives for getting involved: 74 percent say Congress intervened to advance a political agenda, not because they cared what happened to Terri Schiavo. Public approval of Congress has suffered as a result; at 34 percent, it is the lowest it has been since 1997, dropping from 41 percent last month. Now at 43 percent, President Bush
