commencing week 2 of physical therapy

Nobody told me this was going to be hard.

Okay, that's a lie. My I Liq Chuan instructor told me it was going to be hard. And take months. And hurt like a bitch. All of which turns out to be true. But the rotator cuff is such a tiny little muscle, it shouldn't be allowed to make so much trouble.

Can't I just replace it with a cybernetic left arm?

Cybernetic arm? I've got a couple of those in my closet if you want one.

Sweet! Do they come with modular hands? I really like to be able to take the hand off and put other appliances on. (You know... chainsaw, pipettor, whatever.)

Yeah, but the only ones I have left are the egg-beater hand and the ping-pong paddle hand. Make of that what you will.

I have been saying this for *years* and there's nothing at all wrong with my left arm. Apart from, you know, not being cybernetic.

Damnit, 2009, I don't care about space colonies and jet packs, but c'mon, is it too much to ask for some cybernetic limbs already?

A friend of mine has a T-shirt that says "It's 2008, where's my jetpack?!"

Of course, the problem with cybernetic arms is that they will probably run Android -- which may be useful when you want to make phone calls and search the internet with your arm, but will be irritating when it starts serving up contextual advertisements..."I detect that you just picked up some chocolate chips..Go to recipe.com for the best cookie recipes!"
