my name is laura, and i am addicted to law and order.
i didn't see a single episode today, when i typical see at least two if not four in one 24 hour period, spread out across the many cable channels that carry said tv show in syndication. i felt listless. the remote sat in my hand, a powerless talisman which caused the television to flicker, but not to produce that stunning mix of drama and comedy, murder and laughter, with that sound, oh yeah, that sound, the "Dohn Dohn" we all know and love.
i DID see a show called starved, a new tv show on fox (sometimes they get it right, i tell ya) about a bunch of people with eating disorders. a black comedy, if you will. actually sort of funny, although i think it's more catharsis for the author of the program than anyone watching it. i don't know that i'll be inclined to watch it again, although i did laugh my ass off when that one dude crawled around on the floor with water from hydro colon therapy shooting out of his ass onto some patients in the waiting room. slap stick delivered by straight-faced yuppies is better than watching frat boys decapitate themselves in ATV mishaps.

wait, don't, i have a sweet, hot, somewhat distant but still affectionate boyfriend that i get to hang out with tomorrow. hold off on the execution until it goes bad, okay?
