Thoughts on 9x04 - Slumber Party

I see that the glory days of the Men of Letters predated the sort of PSA I grew up with, about keeping dangerous chemicals out of reach of children. Seriously, they had a bottled witch - one so strong they knew of no way to kill it - and they couldn't set the bottle inside a nice padded box?

Haggerty spent years trying to figure out how to free Dorothy, and must have documented his attempts, yet never bothered to label the jar? Augh. As if my opinion of the MoL wasn't already on the low side.

The unrealistically precarious glass situation made me wish for a callout to Hell House, where the jars in the basement sat undisturbed for decades, and Dean dared Sam to drink from one of them.

I did kind of like Sam's reluctance to nest, given that every other place he's considered home (including Bobby's house) has gone up in flames, and I have been thinking of doing a story about that - that maybe one day he and Dean would settle somewhere, and Sam would get all OCD about installing a fire sprinkler system.

On that note - the bunker also predates literal firewalls and building codes, contains mysterious chemicals, questionable wiring, and is full of flammable material. Hmmmm . . .
