Yeah! But let's not take this Obama thing too far

I'm extremely happy Obama one. However, it's not that he's Obama, but that he's the Democratic candidate. I think any of the three top contenders (Clinton and Edwards were the other two...) would have won. This was not as much a victory for Obama but a repudiation of the policies that have been going on since 1980. Clinton was the only Democratic leader, and he wandered to the very center, and even to the right, on many business and military issues.

It wasn't Obama's change people needed, it was change. Now the hard part starts: Providing that change. The Senate doesn't look like it's going to 60 Democratic seats, meaning Republicans can threaten filibusters. Meanwhile, it's hard to turn a ship of State, and wanting too much too soon in the way of results is just silly.

Obama needs to quickly, before his inauguration, put forward policy and legislation he wants to attack, so Congress can quickly go to it. However, we need to give it time for those changes to have an impact.
