Excerpts
Shivering, Jenna turned on her side and squeezed her eyes tight, as though that would block out the creepy feelings. She just couldn’t stop imagining what it would be like to be in those woods at that time of night. The trees creaking, as though alive. Eyes peering out in the dark, in a very Snow White-esque manner. And a whisper. Why was there...
a whisper. She could feel its breath on her neck, warm and solid. It was so different from the rest of the wood which was cold and fragile as though the whole scene would break into tiny little pieces if she so much as breathed too hard. Why was there...
a hand. It curled around her shoulder, the warmth just as solid as its breath.
"Say something," she whispered to the shadow behind her shoulder. "Please,"
It wouldn’t answer. It kept its grip on her. Why was there...
a pair of lips, on her ear. She just wished she could know what it wanted to say. Why was there...
Sunlight. Jenna winced as she felt the intrusion of it under her eyelids. She groaned, rolled over, and peeled her eyes open. Amelia stood in front of the now open windows, arms stretched out as though welcoming the world.
"Whatimesit?" Jenna mumbled.
"Sorry, dear, I didn’t catch that."
"What time is it?" Jenna said enunciating each word.
"Seven," Jenna groaned and pulled the covers back over her head. Why was Amelia waking her up at the ungodly hour of seven o’clock on one of her first summer mornings?

Inspiration
Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
