Can't I get some friggin laser beams?

Continuing my scheme of world domination (?), I went to the laser show at High Falls tonight. In my four years in Rochester, I had never gone. I had been across the street from the big waterfall, but I had never actually seen it. Yes, I should be embarrassed. And if you've been here as long as I have and haven't gone, so should you.

The show consisted of lasers and fireworks and was designed for all ages. A version with fewer cartoons and more visual effects would have been nicer, but then kids would be bored by it. Anyway, for what it was and where it was (aka in Rochester), I was impressed. The city has purchased some really nice equipment.

Afterwards, we went to the Tiki Bob complex, which appears to be at least three businesses in one that are all connected together. There were multiple levels, and the building kept going and going and going. Also, there were various sources of music... a live 6-person band (playing to an audience of like 5) competed with a DJ playing Beastie Boys (also to an audience of like 5). I liked looking at the remnants of the structure that generated hydroelectric power with large waterwheels. The water wheels were connected to triphammers, which were large hammers used in metalworking to make tools. This part of the building was about 200 years old, and they had signs explaining how it all used to work.

Did I mention we biked up to High Falls? It was a really nice night for it, and it was a good ride. We got laughed at by some girls outside one of the bars who I guess couldn't understand why anyone would ride a bike, and some young lady yelled at us on the way back on East Ave. that we should be using the sidewalk, but otherwise people were courteous.
