January!
Wow, it's just been a crazy January! There were so many things going on, and after 21 days (or three weeks), I finally have some time to just sit down (or lay down, I'm in bed right now) to write down my thoughts. I'm usually good with writing in LJ, but my last post there was when I offered on the house - December!
The biggest update is that I've moved into my new house. It's mine. All mine! It feels great. At the same time, it's such a big responsibility and sometimes I really feel overwhelmed. I can't wait to get some more money and start making the house my own. I'm going to paint the living room, redo the fireplace, and put tile in the living room. I hate carpet unless it's in a bedroom! As far as the yard goes, everything's out of here! It's not that I don't like plants, it's just that there's too many of them! I also have a cactus to plant...
It's weird not having family around when I'm at home. The house is so quiet that I turn on the TV just for noise. I haven't been eating dinner with the family since I took the job at Hammerhead's, but I'm not used to eating dinner without people walking around.
I don't have a lot of furniture right now, but what I have I like. Other than the TV... I've got to get a flat screen. I don't care much for the coffee table either, but those are both easy fixes. They both require money. I bought dinnerware. It looks so cute on my kitchen table! I can't wait to have friends over! Now there's motivation to learn how to cook. :) I bought cooking things too.. frying pans, stock pot, etc. It all came in a box. My own problem is I don't have things like mixing spoons or spatulas. I've started to make a list of things I need so I don't forget the next time I go shopping. Oh, and I never realized how important chopsticks were to me. I think I'm going to steal some from my mom's house. :)
My office is still a mess. It's pretty much where I dumped everything that didn't belong in the rest of the house. George Dubya, my stand-up, is in there. I think I'm going to make one wall the George W. Bush / Election 2004 wall. :) Complete with GOP flag and framed souvenirs, of course!
Let's see, what else... I'm working on my business. I have a great name for my event services business (which will be under the umbrella of my main business), but I was trying to figure out a name for the main one. I tried everything I could think of but everything was already taken or really didn't make that much sense. So, I'm sticking to Hieu Tran & Company. So what if no one knows how to spell Hieu... they will someday! :)
I don't think I lost any weight since I last posted. Oh well. I'm very forgiving of myself. Lol. I have... a good month or so to lose 10 pounds. I think it will be easier to do since I won't have as much food around me and I'm coming home earlier than usual. It makes it easier to go to the gym.
Lastly, that "mysterious" part of Hieu's life that no one really knows about... it's going well. That is all on that subject.
Alright, sleep time. If I go to sleep now, I should be able to get 7.5 hours of sleep. That's nice!
