I'm heartbroken to hear that Ernie Harwell passed away. It's been expected for the past year and he battled longer than her should have, but still, it's just sad to hear such a great Detroit legend has left us. Pete loved him. I remembered hearing him on the radio during the summer. I hope he finds rest now and knows he left this life as

What a great broadcaster he was. This reminds me of when the great late Jack Buck died in 2002. Ernie and him were such legendary broadcasters. Terrific coverage and memories of his life are freep.com. Rest in peace.
