Well, the Cranach gown was wearable tonight. I even managed to get the escoffion in a finished enough state to wear--and I must say it looks fabulous. I'll be sure to take some photos and explain the modifications I made to the pattern directions.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any of my own photos tonight. The camera batteries were DOA. A couple people at the party snapped some, though, and I'm sure they'll send me the shots. We even got a few with
sybilvonbora's German hat, which is absolutely amazing! MUST HAVE ONE!
Of course, there are still a few things to do for this outfit, and some issues that need fixin':
1. gown needs sleeves
2. escoffion needs beads
3. lacing rings need to be anchored better
4. Skirt needs to be reattached with button hole twist
5. petticoat needed (the skirt turned out to be just a teeny-tiny bit too long--petticoat should fix that right up)
6. brustfleck needs a couple of hook-and-eyes (made do with a safety pin tonight--hey, whatever works)
7. MAKE HAT!
Not sure if any of this will get done anytime soon. I really need to move on to another project. I might try to do the sleeves and the beading before Wednesday, but no promises.
Oh, and K did wear my jedi costume tonight. He looked fabulous and was much admired. It pretty much fit him perfectly; glad I didn't get rid of it once I lost all that weight. :) I'm also quite proud of him for not being weird about wearing a costume I originally made for myself.
