I do want to talk about my weekend.
Muhlenberg orientation was AWESOME. It began with a series of lectures from the president, dean, psychologist, and a really hot student. :] Then I hung out with AJ, my new 'berg friend who I met on myspace. Went to my french exam. I thought it was pretty easy. Ended up placing into Intermediate French I, which isn't bad, I guess. Came outside of the french exam and was sitting around talking with a bunch of girls who were all into the performing arts. I looked away 'cause I had no idea what they were talking about, and I see a girl next to me. She and I start talking, and it turns out she was one of the lacrosse recruits! :D Heather from Summit. It was really cool. We ended up having basically the same schedule for the day, so Heather and I hung out a lot. Ate lunch, talked to AJ a bit more... Then I did some stuff for housing, got my ID picture taken (it actually came out nicely!), and set up my bank account with Wachovia. I now have a checking account and debit card. :D Went to a student led discussion about random campus life (aka parties and activities). I didn't really have any questions, though. So it was kind of boring. Finished the day with scheduling and signing the matriculation ledger, making me an official Muhlenberg student. :] It was an amazing day. I met so many cool people, all the guys were really hot, and it already feels like home. I did not want to leave. So here's my tentative schedule.
Subcultures (first year seminar).
Topics in Mathematics (math, only one requirement, biyotch).
Intermediate French I (language).
Media and Society (communications).
Fitness and wellness (a gym class required, no credits).
My alternatives are:
God Today (religion).
Drawing I (art).
There comes a time in every athlete's life where they have that one game, or that one day, that they know they will always remember because it was completely 100% intense and fantastic. Sunday was like that for me. I can't even describe how fun it was, and how good it felt to be playing amongst the greats. What made it even better was for once I actually felt like I belonged there. The team, though only for a few hours, was really tight. No one knew each other for the most part, yet we all played flawlessly. It felt like that was what the sport should feel like all the time. What made it even better was that everyone was a senior, from New Jersey, and a hardcore lacrosse player. Based on that alone we all had this connection. It was cool.
To all the Juniors/ almost seniors: If you are selected to this, you absolutely MUST do this next year.
I came to Ridge on sunday completely nervous, because I didn't know anybody there and I wasn't sure if Ali was coming. Plus it was at a rival school. haha. Within seconds I was hanging out and talking with the Ridge girls, reminiscing about our seasons and talking about our 4th grade classes together. We were all on the Central Jersey team, along with Bridgewater, Hillsboro, and a few other random players (such as myself). The Senior All Star teams were divided into 4 sections: North, Central, South, and Shore. Kim Imbesi, the Bridgewater goalie was on the Central team with me. We were about to play north when we discovered that they didn't have a goalie. Being that I was the loner from Bernards they pulled me over to the North team. I was with Mendham, Chatham, Summit, West Essex, Madison, Ridgewood, Caldwell, and Mountain Lakes now. Oh yeah, and I was with Deni's favorite lacrosse player ever, haha. I bragged that to her. :] I had a great game, clicked with the girls... and we beat Central 12-6 in the first round. Ali came during the second half and played for central, had an assist for a DeLuca! Weird/ awesome. Then we were on to play in the final on turf at 2! The rest of the day was completely confusing, ended up playing for Shore for one game against Central. In that game Shore lost 15-8. :'[ Took a picture with the Ridge girls for the newspaper... I don't know, a lot of cool stuff went on that day. Lacrosse jamboree woooohoooooooooo!!!!!!!
Shit, I loved it. Like I said, if andy of you make this team, you need to play for it.
I am done. <3
