When we were freshmen, and we all had time to do nothing but talk, Scarpa said something once about heartbreak. He thought that when a heart broke, it only got stronger. Just like when a bone breaks, it recalcifies to become stronger than it was originally.
I told him he was wrong then, and I still disagree. I think that when a heart breaks, it shatters. And all you have left is to pick up the pieces and move on, so that someday you can put them back together- yourself.
