And usually those tablets the archeologists find are inventories and the like. Or tax records. Or census records. Not great stuff to the average person, but to someone who likes history it gives an idea of lifestyle at that time.

I think that Methos doctored those books. I can't see him not skimming at least a little off the liquor inventory. :D
