First It Was Beer

Now it's milk. I swear, I'm in need of an intervention or something. No matter what the subject, pretty much everything makes me think of Methos. You think I'm kidding? I'm reading this article: Study Detects Recent Instance of Human Evolution (which is quite fascinating BTW, and I would recommend reading it if you're into that sort of thing) and I ( Read more... )

rummaging in the attic, methos

Look, the guy lived over 5,000 years. He certainly didn't spend all of his time twiddling his thumbs. Or even hacking people's heads off. Smart man like him probably spent a lot of time getting into all kinds of - well - mischief. *snerk*

It's only natural to wander through history and wonder just what Methos was doing at any particular moment. I can just see him as a child, poking a stick into an anthill just to see what would happen. Yeah, he's that kind of guy. *grin*

It's not a "preoccupation problem". It's called "research".

Just nod your head, Ith, dear, and go along with me here. Good girl! And, no, it's not nice to say "bullshit" when you think I can't hear you. ;)

I think I had this beaten out of me in uni. Overall my course was Archaeology & Anthropology, and I had planned to concentrate on archaeology until the lecturers made us deconstruct absolutely everything. It's easy to joke that archaeology is guesswork based on fragments, but they don't half analyse the stuff first. In the end I went with biological anthropology and just read archaeological stuff for fun and research :)

Of course this does also mean that I do an academic squee at such articles and go find another version with chromosomal data. Fanfic squeeing comes later *lol*
