How Much Did I Love It?

Back from Vegas and pooped. More details on the trip at some point, but must squee. We ended up seeing Iron Man III three times, and...

This was everything IM II was not. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed IM II, it just didn't quite hit the mark in some ways for me - this did. I came out of the first viewing on cloud nine, and wanted to go right back in to see it again.

Just a few disjointed thoughts.

Tony was Tony - perfect. The PTSD, the anxiety attacks, dealing with ghosts form the past, all of it was so my head canon. Pepper continues to find her place and grow and Tony and Pepper, continue to grow together as a couple. Loved Happy in this, right down to the Downton scenes (though such current time pop culture references were a little odd for me). Oh, Yinsen at the Bern conference [weeps]. Due to research, I knew some about the Extremis thing, so very glad they didn't go there - the whole idea squicked me out. Tony having the Arc Reactor removed made me weepy, in a good way. Salvaging the robots! That scene where they slid off into the ocean.... :( I knew Pepper couldn't have died, because reaction to the movie, even without spoilers, wouldn't have been so positive the week leading up to the North American release. Tony and the kid. Now normally I'm not a fan of cute kid insertions, but this was pretty good. Ben Kingsley was brilliant - magnificent twist. The after the credits scene!!! PERFECT!! I like the fact the three movies are a complete story. Can't wait for the next book!

I'll deal with the nitpicky and questions later on. I'm in my happy place right now.
