Oh, timeline, how you vex me.

Have realized I screwed up the timing in latest fic: I've made it weeks instead of months between Transformative Variations and Equivocal Coalescence, and considering I shot Happy in TV, he can't be running around as active as he is in IM II. Unless I pretend the Happy parts didn't happen in my universe, which I could go with since the two scenes ( Read more... )

I usually don't notice such things till six months after the fact. Like I noticed something in a fic I posted freaking last year when I was reading it last night! Not sure why it popped out at me so soon this time around. I think I need to start keeping my spreadsheet up to date again. I've slacked.

LOL! I'm never that organised. For timelines, it has to make sense in my head or I simply just can't write it. I tend to have a piece of paper with a line across it and various points written on it. A bit like the "crime timeline" they always have on the whiteboard in Castle when plotting out the final hours of the victim. ;)

I have a feeling that my thought process is just generally logically inclined and anything that don't quite fit tend to just jump out at me even though a lot of the time, other people don't even notice it.

Huh... does that mean I'm a Vulcan? *goes off topic*

I don't do timelines for individual stories, but for the series I do. Otherwise I'd have to go back and reread to remember what this or that person was doing in 1765 or 1820 or 1952. Broadly, I have it in my head, but not so much remembering dates of birth, death, how long it took to take a covered wagon from Virginia to California, that sort of thing. Or what year canon characters were doing specific things in the TV show Highlander.
