Duncan nodded as she flashed him a reassuring smile before she walked away. He slumped back into the chair that had been his home for the last - how long had it been? - ten hours. It had all happened so fast, the car accident, Siobahn slumped over the dashboard, blood everywhere....
A voice drew him out of his memories. "Mr. MacLeod?"
Duncan looked up, blinking his eyes several times. It must be the shock, he thought absently. A few more seconds. No, it still looked like Methos.
The doppelganger smiled a very familiar smile. "You need to go back to your hotel and get some sleep." Then more seriously, "Your fiancee will be fine, but she'll need to stay here for a few days."
"You, you're...." Duncan said stupidly.
"Very good at what I do, the best, actually." Once more, the familiar, half-mocking smile graced his face. "Ask anyone."
