Oh my dear, if you are going to plant roses go with a David Austin type. Not only do they have amazing (and strong) fragrance but they are also very nice bushes as well. Try Evelyn or Mary, for a pink, Graham Thomas for a yellow, Glamis Castle for a white, and there are many many many more.

(I was a professional landscaper for 18 years. Roses and perennials were my specialties.)

No, we aren't just starting, we have many dozens of different roses on the property. It's one of my brother's hobbies.
