One Good Thing

The current cold weather has been very useful for cold storage! We never have enough room in the fridge/freezer over the holidays, so the front porch makes for a nice storage spot. I made turkey stock last night, that was done just before I went to bed around 1am. But no room in the fridge for the humongous pot, so I put it on the porch. Now, it's ( Read more... )

I love it when the weather can be a great assistant in storage. We used to do that at my grandparents, using their back porch in the winter.

When we used to have the family gather at my Uncle's for Christmas, he would put all the drinkables outside on the porch to free up space in the fridge. It was great! Nearly frozen Pepsi and Root Beer was awesome and it was all done outside!

Awesome! Right now we're using the back deck for extra cold storage. Our high today was 22, the low was -10. Dude, I had no idea it got that cold here.

Hey, how much snow did you guys end up with? We got probably 8". Nin and you need to come soon for hot chocolate and schnapps!

We got a few inches, but La Verkin was an ice rink I waited to go into work til about 10am. Even then, it took nearly an hour to clear the car windows and get the door to open on the car.

Just let us know when you want us - we're around :)

one thing I like about winter in cold climates is I can go to the grocery store and then leave it in the car if I need to go do something else and not worry about the frozen stuff or milk etc.
