I Voted

I voted this morning before work, the first time I've voted 'live' in something like twenty years. In CA, I always voted absentee. Guys, they have these computer gizmos now to vote on! We have the touch screen computers too and we have a small little room with only 2 voting machines. No waiting. I came in and picked up my sister to make sure she voted too.

Our elections were a month ago, and they just published the final results today, and they still left out an entire canton. There were some accusations about tampering, so voting will be repeated there. It's such a sham that more and more people are becoming disillusioned with the process and indeed, with he whole concept of democracy. Demands for breaking up the country have never been stronger, and there's some really ugly threats being thrown about.

Same here, over the last several years elections have become complete circus... The general resentment is growing, and sometimes I'm really glad I don't have kids yet:(.

I had to point out my name to the poll lady. My secret? I saw my signature at the top of the page in the book while she was trying to go to a different part of the 'W' section.
