Meeting Dom!!
OMFG! It happened. It really and truly happened. I met Dominic Monaghan!! *squees*
He is soooooo nice and soooooo damn sexy!! *drools* We went down to the cave set (again) and we knew right away that this time they were there because there were a lot more trailers than normal. They usually just have Dom, Evie, and Matthew's trailer. So right away, I got this huge knot in my stomach. I was praying that 1) Dom would be there and 2) that at least one of the three security guards, or the crew guy that we had talked to before was there. No such luck on that second one. It was another guy, and the land guy. Anyway, when we walked up there, they told us that yes, there were some cast members there filming. But at first they wouldn't say who. They said that I could not take pictures, that they would have to take the film from my camera if I did, but that if I wanted I could stay and wait to see if they came out. Well, hello, of course I am going to stay, that close to possibly meeting Dom, no well in hell was I leaving if I didn't have to. So I waited for a while. I was just sitting quietly (I did not want to cause trouble and get thrown out.)
A little while later, the guard came over and started talking to me. He was very nice, Ryan I think was his name, anyway he told me that Dom, Evie, and Daniel Dae Kim were the only ones that were there. And he asked who I really wanted to see. I said Dom (of course)!! He said that they would be taking lunch soon, and maybe they would come out. So I waited some more. I got to see Evie came out, go in and then out of her trailer. I did not see her that close up, but she is beautiful.
Anyway the guard stayed and talked to me a bit more, told me that all of the cast were really nice, really down to earth people. He said Jorge was really funny. And that Josh was so nice, just the absolute opposite of Sawyer. Although he did say that Josh is the type of actor to remain in character the whole shooting time, so that if you didn't know better, you would think he was a total ass (Sawyer) but that as soon as they yell cut for the day, Josh is back. Matthew they said is also a real nice guy, but not as sociable as the others.
A bit after that, the land guy came over and said that this was the deal. That he would see if he could ask them while they were at lunch if they would meet me. But it was all up to them. No meant no. Yes meant yes. Then he said that if they said yes, then it would be okay to take a pic. I said okay, that I understood, all the while trying to remain calm.
It was really friggin hot out, and I was baking in the sun, so Ryan, said that I could go over to the cafe next door, and get something to drink and get some shade while I waited (which I did) and that he would come get me when it was time. It was then, waiting did I catch my first glimpse of Dom. He came out, went into his trailer, and a few minutes later came back out. (I was dying just seeing that)That is when it really hit me. I was so close to finally meeting Dom. It seemed like forever, time went to slow.
After a bit longer, Ryan finally called me back over. I went over there, and he said soon. I was so nervous, just praying that they (Dom) would say yes. The land guy came over again and told me that they would be coming out in a few minutes, but that if they came out with their lunch already, (as they usually do) he would not even ask. Again I agreed, what could I do.
While I was (still) waiting I saw Daniel come out and go over to a car. Ryan told me that the guy in the car was Daniel’s language coach, and that neither Daniel nor Yunjin spoke Korean. I thought that was amazing, because they both do an fantastic job. It is such a beautiful language.
Finally, finally we were standing around waiting, when Dom came out. I could hardly breathe when I saw him. The land guy went over to him, and said something to him, then pointed to me and Dom looked over at me (I am having trouble breathing just remembering it) and then they started walking my way. He looked so amazing!!! It is hard to believe, but he is even sexier in person. *sighs* He was all "Charl-ied" up. Brown bucket(?) T-shirt, jeans, a necklace, the Drive Shaft ring *squees* and sunglasses. His hair was a bit mussed, and he smelled sooooo good, clean, but with a hint of sweat... I was dying! Anyway, he walked over, reached out and shook my hand and said hello. (His hands were warm, and his voice, again sexier in person!) Now right about here is where my brain decided to take a break, because as much as I wish I could remember what the hell he (I said) I remember I said, "Hi, I'm Kelly." He said "Nice to meet you." (And for some reason, I really want to say that he said "I'm Dom" - but I can't be sure on that.) I said “Thank you so much for doing this.” He smiled, and said “You’re very welcome.”
He asked me about Hawaii, what I was doing here, how long I was staying, and did I like it here. I told him I loved it here, that I didn't want to leave, and that this was my first trip anywhere. He was like "Really, wow." We talked about my flight. How it was, I told him it was, I don't remember (again) what was said exactly, but I do remember him talking about the turbulence, and when "you are in the car and it is bumpy you don't even notice it, but when you are in the plane and it does this (he made a up and down motion with his hand) your stomach just drops". And then he said "if you can do that (flying) you can do anything." (For some reason, I remember that so clearly)He also asked where I was staying, and when I told him, he nodded and said "Oh, yeah, that is not far from ...... beach" (where they film) I told him that I had been there already. Then he asked "Do you watch the show?" I said yes, definitely! It is amazing."
He smiled; that beautiful smile of his. I told him that last nights, was "unbelievable." He said "yeah, people can’t believe that Ethan is really dead.” And I said “Yeah and that it was Charlie that did it. (How friggin' cool is it that I was able to talk to Dom about Charlie’s eppy!!!) Dom then said "yeah, he is a murderer now." And I said, "he is, but I don't like to think of him that way (and I touched his arm *sigh*) then he said "but he is a murderer with a good heart." I agreed and told him "that he was doing it to protect Claire, so it came from a good place." He smiled at that. Then the land guy interrupted us, and said “Can I get a pic Dom?” Dom was like “Yes, sure.” and moved closer to me, and put his arm around me. (Yes, dying again) I put my arm around his waist (dying even more) his body was warm, and lithe. The guy took 2 pics. Then I again thanked him, and he said “it was no problem” My brain then kicked into gear, and remembered to ask him for an autograph. (All I had with me was my map of Oahu, the one I had been using to track down all the places where they had been filming.) He was like, “yeah, absolutely.” I pulled out the map, and handed it to him. Dom looked down at my purse, and said “you have a sharpie in there.” I laughed and pulled that out and handed it to him. He asked me to show him where I was staying, on the map so that he could sign there. He said “Kelly, right?” I said, “Yes, with a y.” While he was signing it I asked him if he was true about the rumors of there being an actual Drive Shaft album. He smiled and said “Yeah it is a possibility,” and that is was crazy that there were all these Drive Shaft websites, but that he has been working with Jude (can’t remember who that is) and doing some background vocals and stuff. I told him that was great, that a lot of people would love it. He said “it is cool” and I was like (And I touched him again) “let’s do it.” That made him laugh. Then it was over. I knew it was time to go. I thanked him again, and told him how much it meant to me. I shook his hand again. He said, again, that it was no problem and that it was nice to meet me. That was when I realized that another lady was standing there, with a piece of paper for him to sign for her daughter. (Which he did) then another lady came, but they turned her away, saying Dom had to go. When he turned to go, he smiled at me, and said bye. I said bye again and wished him all the best. He smiled, said thank you, then turned and headed back toward the back of the building. I did not want him to go, but he did look good going. *smirks*
I thanked the guard and land guy, again, told them that they made my day, made my trip. They said they were glad, and that the only reason that they did it was because I was so patient, and waited nicely. (Patience and niceness do pay off) Then the land guy, handed me a pic of the entire cast, signed (copies) that was cool of him. Anyway, we stood and talked a bit more. (I saw Dom again, walking back to his trailer, on hic cell phone) and then it was time for me to go.
I still can’t believe that it happened. It seems like such a dream. I think what I remember best is just looking at him; standing there in front of me, the sun catching the highlights in his hair, his oh so sexy mouth, the scruffy beard, and his nose (OMG - I just wanted to kiss it - I could not stop staring at it) and all my mind can do is think Dominic Monaghan is right there, you are standing face to face with him. Remember this Kelly, don’t let it go.
It was the best day of my whole life and I will never forget it. Thank you Dominic Monaghan, for making my dream come true.
