well, i've moved on from post-hardcore prog rock and the new
obscure musical genera of the week:

Math rock.

and so far i've got braid, and i need somemore bands.
the writing scar works.
and sunny day realestate kinna does, they broke the sacred math rock rule of using two SGs(which i've seen evidence to in the other two math rock bands).

none of those are math rock, son. math rock goes hand in hand with prog. so dream theater is prog/math rock. braid/writing scar/sdr/ are all indie.
