_tiger_saver_ asked for a tutorial of this icon (from this post), so I'm going to attempt to write the first one I've written in almost four years.

Using PSP9 (translatable, I think). NOTE: it's not exactly the same as the original because I don't have the PSP file, but it's as close as I could get it. :)

1. I used this image from hires_hotties. Cropped, sharpened, etc.

2. Create a new layer. Fill it with color #44240c, and set the blend mode to exclusion. Leave opacity at 100%.

3. Duplicate the base layer and set it to soft light. (100%)

4. On the soft light layer, go: Adjust>Automatic Color Balance.
Settings should be: Temperature: 9300; Strength: 30; Remove Color Cast: Ticked.

5. Duplicate the original (base) layer again, drag it to the top, and set the blend mode to 'screen'.

6. Create a new layer and fill it with this gradient:

Set the blend mode to "burn" and set the opacity at 60%.

7. Create a new layer and fill it with #e1d8af. Set the blend mode to soft light and leave the opacity at 100%.

8. Duplicate the base layer again and drag it to the top.

9. With the top 'soft light' layer selected, go: Adjust>Automatic Color Balance.
Settings should be: Temperature: 2500; Strength: 30; Remove Color Cast: Ticked.

10. Repeat step 9, and set the opacity to 25%.

11. Finito! Save as .png (or .jpg, whichever you prefer).

This is what your layers should look like:

1 (bottom layer)

Blend Mode: Normal | Opacity: 100%

2

Blend Mode: Exclusion | Opacity: 100%

3

Blend Mode: Soft Light | Opacity: 100%

4

Blend Mode: Screen | Opacity: 100%

5

Blend Mode: Burn | Opacity: 60%

6

Blend Mode: Soft Light | Opacity: 100%

7

Blend Mode: Soft Light | Opacity: 25%

Questions, comments, suggestions are all welcome.

& I'd love to see all YOUR results!
