"Did you message Elijah yet?" Rebekah asked, looking to Damon as she exited the younger vampire's bedroom. Her hair was still damp from an earlier shower, spilling down her back in soft curls as she walked around in nothing but a pair of panties and a shirt that she had borrowed from Damon. He called it a wifebeater shirt which was a truly

Catching the look from Damon as she looked at the nail polish again, she nodded a bit. "Okay." She hadn't seen twilight and so she didn't know about sparkling vampires and whatnot but she had been leaning towards the plumberry color anyhow.
Putting the glittery nail polish away, she leaned back on the couch, shifting to make herself comfortable as she cracked open the bottle. The scent of nail polish filled the air, causing her to wrinkle her nose but clearly it didn't bother her enough to keep her from starting to do her nails.

He wrinkled his nose a little at the scent, as well, but she looked really cute sitting there in his shirt, so he wasn't going to protest too loudly. Instead, he pulled out his messenger and went ahead and sent Elijah a message.
"So...were you shopping for a special occasion, or just strappy heels for fun?" He didn't know of anything in particular coming up, but that didn't mean anything. To be fair, he didn't always pay the best attention to village events unless they were loudly announced.

Focusing back on her nails, she shrugged a bit at the question. "I was bored." And she had just gotten paid, so why not?
"I'll probably wear them to work this weekend."
Truthfully, she had needed the distraction. Having Elijah back in the village was nice, it was exactly what she wanted, but he had come with news that just didn't sit well with her and there were times when it weighed on her. Times when nothing could distract her from the dark and dangerous thoughts that bothered her.

He set the messenger aside and reached out to snag her calf, shifting carefully to not mess up her painting, until he could just run his fingers up and down her skin lightly, tracing fingertips around her ankle. "I think that is a brilliant idea--though it may leave me a little too distracted to get may done, depending how hot they are."
Both of the siblings were obviously disturbed, still. He was glad Elijah was back--for her sake and for his own--but he wanted to help and he didn't know if there was anything else besides distraction he could provide.

She paused as he moved to join her, lifting the brush away from her nail so she didn't mess up on what she was doing. Of course, the feel of his fingers drifting over her skin was highly distracting, eliciting a little shiver even while she tried to focus on what she was doing once more.
"On their own, they're rather nice but paired with the skirt I bought?" She glanced at him through her long lashes, flashing a coy little smirk.
The distractions he provided were nice and exactly what she needed because, right now, there was nothing she could do about what was going on back home. She hadn't gone back to experience it yet and she honestly didn't want to. Knowing about it was bad enough.

"Now I'm going to be thinking about that for the rest of the night...or the rest of the week..."
He slid his fingers higher, then slowly back down to her ankle again. "You're supposed to be providing security, not cause riots," he teased lightly.

She looked vaguely pleased with the riot comment, shrugging a little. "The only ones who will notice or care is you or Elijah." Other vampires tended to stay away from her.

"You are stunningly beautiful," he told her. "Everyone notices, even if they aren't willing to act upon it." Because most weren't idiots, but they were young, and Elijah was scary in his calmness.

"You were willing." She pointed out with a playful smirk, finishing one hand. "And quite a few times after that."

"Though, to be fair to the others, your brother was there the first time..."

"I think I'll remember that first time for the rest of my life." She commented casually even though it was a big thing to say.
Reply
"I know I will." the curious look remained. "It was the first time for the two of you, too, wasn't it?"
That wasn't generally something he'd ask, but he'd noticed their hesitance with each other. In a way it surprised him, when he thought of it later, that they'd wanted him there.

But then she nodded. "It was."

"You're good together," he commented mildly. "And not just in looks."
