It wasn't very often tha Rebekah found a present that was guaranteed to intrigue her brother.  She wouldn't say it was a present that would make Elijah smile, not with his morals and his honor code but she knew he would definitely be intrigued but what she had found.  She knew that she was but she hadn't sated her curiosity because she figured he would appreciate enjoying the new toy first.  Not that she thought he would share but she could hope, couldn't she?

Shutting the door to the guest bedroom, Rebekah still felt ridiculously pleased with herself as she moved down the hall of her brother's New York home.  When he had offered to take her with him, she hadn't been sure where they would go but she was fine with the Big Apple as they called it.  She adored the noise, the energy and the people who seemed to be everywhere.  It allowed her to do more since there was less of a chance of being caught.  No one ever really noticed an extra dead body in such a huge place like this.

"Elijah?"  She called out, wondering where he was.  He had always been prone to brooding but it was worse these days, especially since the night they came to realize that their mother - who had returned from the dead - had no intention of actually keeping their family together.  No, her plan had been to kill them all to fix a mistake she believed she had made centuries before.

It was a dark thought, a haunting memory, that she pushed away in favor of staying in a good mood.  Everyone had their own way of coping and right now hers was avoidance.  Finally picking up on the soft murmurs of his voice, she entered the library where she found him talking on the phone and so she dropped into a chair nearby where she would pass time waiting for him by staring at him till he decided to hang up.
