raining so hard the clouds must be a million miles high

Actually it's turned into a really nice day now, who'd have thought it :P

I'm having a superproductive day today. After being woken up at 5am by the thunder/lightning/beeping sound that turned out to be our house alarm going off (I was sleepy and confused - I heard a beeping then an alarm which I thought was a car alarm outside but actually turned out to be the house alarm going "beep beep I'm about to go off if you don't key in the code, no too late WAAOOOAAOOOAAOOAAH"). The alarm went off because the power went out for 15 seconds or so, which upset it just a little. Anyway, Crin was awake too so we went to watch the storm from Jen's room as the lightning seemed to be coming from that side but actually I think it was mostly up on the Downs - according to Ashley the water tower was hit. Both parents were up too because of the storm so we watched it for about 15 minutes in an odd 5am family bonding session, then went back to bed. This morning proper I slept in until 9:30 (8:15 would have been just too early...), then got on to being productive.

So far I have:
- kicked Crin up the arse (metaphorically) and made her tidy our room with me. It took about 2 hours to do an area approximately 1.5 square metres, and that was just the area within 1 foot of the floor... well we're getting there P
- phoned the CRB so they can send me a form to say I'm not a paedophile for my volunteering
- washed my plant (ok, put it out in the rain for half an hour)
- sorted out my finances
- received my early birthday present from Jen - a signed Roddy cd and rose body lotion from the body shop. The cd is excellent and the lotion is just yummy
- watched House that we recorded last night
- started cutting out felt flowers to sew onto my skubb that I bought in Ikea yesterday

so I have done everything on my list other than accompanying Oz on his run later (weather permitting). Hoorah for productive days! :D
