He's been angry before. Lots of times. But he's always rushed into a new mission or a new relationship, and if he didn't have those he'd eat and sleep and live in a casino. Anger was easier to manage with a new target or a new body to fuck.
He doesn't want to do that to her. She deserves more.
Temperance deserves temperance.
So he'll slow down and deal with his anger while she works on her imperviousness. And then they'll meet in the middle. The fracture in their center will heal and be stronger than before.
And it'll hold for thirty, forty, even fifty years.
