Sorry to randomly comment on your page which has nothing to do with your post but I am doing a dissertation on Takarazuka and I need more people to fill out my questionnaire. I was originally looking for japanese females to fill out my questionnaire now I'm looking for females of any nationality. It's only 3 questions. I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to fill it out. I just looked up people who are interested in Takarazuka on LJ. I have also joined the Takarazuka forum. Thanks in advance.
1. What are your opinions of the women who play "otokoyaku" in Takarazuka? 1.あなたは宝塚で“男 役”を演じる女性についてどう感じますか。
2. What are your opinions on women in theatre? do you think it is a respectable profession? if yes please state why, if no please state why. 2.演劇で女性が演じるこ とについてどう感じますか。また、それは立派な職業だと思いますか。そう思う人も 思わない人も理由も一緒に書いてください。
3. The "otokoyaku" are popular for being less threatening than men. For those of you who like actresses that play "otokoyaku" could you in your own words describe what it is that you like about them. For those of you who don't particulaly like "otokoyaku" can you understand why people idolise the "otokoyaku" actresses? If yes please state why. 1. The women who play the otokoyaku in Takarazuka are, to me, extremely admirable in what they do. They're very talented women.
2. I do believe it's a respectable profession (quite possibly because it's something that I wish to do). I don't understand how it could be a respectable profession for men and not for women.... ^^;
3. I enjoy how talented they are. How they can imitate a man, and succeed almost better than any man could. They know how to make people weak in their knees because they're women and they already know what women enjoy. They're suave and swanky.. And just all around very interesting women.
