Making Friends, Having Fun
My schedule on Saturday morning is so tight, every delay is consequential. Saturday started on the bad side, when they opened the pool late, which in turn left me with less than 10 minutes to get dressed and ready to leave for work. I missed my bus by mere 30 seconds and that's because of an annoying bug or something in the elevator here. At times, it would idle on the 16 floor, and when I want to go down from the 11th floor, the elevator would come down to the 11th floor, go up again to the 16th floor, come back empty and if I'm lucky would go down to the first floor then.
Luckily for me, I didn't have to wait long for then next bus [I also got back to my room to pick up something] and all in all I got to work relatively on time. Work itself was same old same old. Still working on the Project from Hell [and Flash is still very frustrating]. The project is getting there very slowly. Mostly I can work on it when inspiration hits. Anyway, that's was hardly the highlight or the fun part of the day.
After work, I went for a meeting about the movie I am going to participate in. Well, it turns out my role is undefined really (probably go uncredited), but that doesn't matter at this point because I really want to work with these guys. I was really surprised to see how many people were involved as both cast and crew (over 20!) and how series it was (we had a PowerPoint presentation even!). We did a read of the script and it was actually good and potentially funny (but not without its share of problems). Almost everyone was friendly there, so naturally I made some friends.
The fun part started after we were finished there. I had planned on going for a pizza after a visit to the library, and a new friend needed to go to the same area, so I asked if he wanted to join me. He agreed. So after getting a ride to the area from people there, we went to the library, and then we went to a technology mall for his errand, and then we went to the pizza place and set there for hours talking. After that we felt like dessert, so we went to my favorite donut shop for drinks and obviously donuts (Now I know my donut limit...) until closing time. I got back home at around 11:30! It was fun!
Being friendly pays off, kids!
