My plans for the weekend didn't pan out at first, but all in all it was a good weekend, so I can't complain.
My first goals for the weekend were to open a bank account, which I finally did, and it took some time because of the surprising long lines (that seemed to be everywhere -- it took me 20 dollars just to top up my EzLink card). After opening a bank account I wanted to buy a mini refrigerator for my room (so subsequently I can buy and store more food besides milk and cereal).
The trouble was that I ran out available cash, and my cash card wasn't activated yet and my paycheck will only clear tomorrow or something like that. So hopefully nothing will happen next week and I'll be able to buy a fridge and then eat like I promised my mom and nutritionist.
The good part of the weekend (besides resting and catching up with the 4th season of House, which was superb) was a gathering of singles/students my age at the Jewish Center, which was quite good. There were food and drinks there, but not a lot of people showed up, but that was all right, because it gave us a chance to get to know people better.
(And I met students that go to NUS so I could say that, "hey, I go to your food courts all the time.")
